Jeff on that first one time to call the township building inspecter they will make the landlord do the piping up to township codes and the builder under no circumstances should vinl tubing be used period. It's cpvc or ovc pipe for drain lines. Also Jeff no change out on the second one remember the 410a phazeout and the problems with new carrier systems those old systems and carriers are like gold. If anything you got your new r 22 replacement you can always convert to blueon r458a until blueon comes up with a 410a equivalent but if you ask me Jeff I think r458 a might work just as well in 410a systems with those reduced high and low side pressures someone needs to test that. Anyway good stuff. And still shocked In Maryland that someone wants to be that cheap with drain lines.

shouldn't change-out just because the equipment is older - older stuff is better quality anyhow

Nothing wrong with a customer being proactive. Plus it’s the perfect time for him to do it. He’s in the middle of a remodel.

@@JeffsHVACAdventures the new one will have chinese capacitor and motors - probably a lg compressor too instead of copeland. i say keep old good quality stuff running until compressor fails or it starts to leak.
