Video descriptions:
0:00 Intro
0:04 Cheap aftermarket battery terminals almost melted through the battery
0:17 Sadly no context for this one. Mechanic saw it on the ground in their shop
0:34 Customer stated they have a 'slow' puncture
0:41 The last mechanic working on this forgot something quite important
1:09 2012 Town & Country just came in for an oil change bought 7 months ago from my dealer luckily it’s getting replaced under warranty
1:16 She said she hit a pot hole... We never get the whole story definitely looks more like a nice curb hit
1:27 Mechanic was doing an oil change and noticed some important missing bolts
1:44 This 2001 Honda Odyssey 200,000 miles had its stock cabin air filter
1:57 Customer thought that this was "normal" and even had baby seats in the back
2:14 At least it was easy to spot the reason why it was misfiring
2:21 Lucky they didn't end up driving to anywhere that would've frozen the water, they even had a easy lever to empty this in the cabin but never did
2:59 Customer states "I think I'm leaking coolant"
3:14 Belle tire told the customer their LCA was about to fall off. Not technically wrong
3:25 Must be one of those new Bluetooth sparkplugs - at least its an easy fix
3:41 This 2007 VW Golf GTI had 0 PSI on cylinder no. 2 RIP piston

1:16 If it was a Boston pothole, I wouldn’t believe it. Too much wheel was still intact.

On the Subaru timing belt, I'm a firm RTFM believer, and whoever did the job obviously wasn't, but I'd like to see a more obvious "Remove Before Flight" on things like the tensioner pulley release "hand grenade" pin.

I once saw a guy put racing slicks on the back of a FWD Honda, best one is when some bozo, bolted up his exhaust to the drive shaft

Wow you know how much moisture would have to build up on that air tank to come out like a fountain

The one with rusty oil pan reminds me of a Toyota I worked on where it was paper thin due to all the rust. The woman's bf had a Tahoe from the 90's and the fuel line was so rusty it would leak if you moved it. The frame was darn near rotted in 2.

Reminds me of every vehicle over 10 years old here in Connecticut, thanks to the crap they put on the roads in winter.

When a customer says “oh I hit a pothole” you get the abbreviation means they ran the curb.

Amazing how some people can neglect maintenance on an expensive investment, THEIR VEHICLE, kinda important ya know, if you want to get to work etc. Other times they just pick the wrong mechanic, ie timing tensioner pin not pulled...oops, or their shit blows up because of all of the above.

My friend hit small "pothole". Got towed to a tire shop, got repaired his driver wheel and called to me, that he can't put his gears on. I came to this shop and i couldn't belive. HE EVEN DENT HIS FLOOR UP SO HIGH THAT CLUTCH WASN'T ABLE TO DISENGAGE... I had to drive manual car without clutch. At least it wasn't a problem on highway. I had to use starter only 3 times to get from complete stop, and 2 of them were close to this shop & highway entrance cuz of traffic lights. Then i had to merge from highway exit and tgere was incoming traffic there. Still, pretty painfull to start.

That is where a baby sledge hammer will come in handy. Smack the floor pan from inside the car and it will go down. You may need a blunt chisel near the pedal, and so you don't hit the under side of the dashboard, but go slow and be careful, and it would be fine.

In the USA can you stop the customer from driving car away if chassis is rotten, like one in this vid or can customer still drive it away. Im in the UK and would really like to know. Anyone?

Some states, not all, allow mechanics to refuse to release a vehicle due to safety concerns. The remaining states you have to watch as they pull away in their ticking time bomb hoping they don't lose control on the highway and kill somebody.
@Mr.Eldric
@Mr.Eldric 2 года назад
@@writesprotected we have MOT. If it fails, no drive away. Scrap or repair. Some of the ones in the vid are way way past repair. How do they get into that kind of condition. Its absolutely nuts. Cable tied ball joints. Brake pads installed backwards. Love watching them but holy crap. Must be terrifying driving over there. 😳

@@Mr.Eldric we don't even have safety inspections in a lot of states. If it passes smog, it's good to go. It is worrisome knowing the condition of a lot of vehicles but the fear from driving in the US has a lot more to do with the road rage. 😉
