Thanks, appreciate it 🙏 and glad to hear you are finding them useful 👍 You rarely see many short-form videos outside of YT Shorts mainly due to them performing very poorly in terms of ad revenue. I have tried to just cover all the topics that people might get stuck on or want to know about. I am up to 150 videos now in this GH6 playlist 🙂
Gosh, I never knew you could customize the Q menu-- blowing my mind! Thank you so much! Say, do you happen to know if there is a way to remove ALL overlays from the screen when recording video? I cant seem to get rid of the mysterious four white corner brackets...
Yes, you can customise almost anything on the camera to your specific workflow which is really handy. Sounds like you mean the focus area? That would not be there if you are using full area focus or manual focus but it needs to be present when using spot focusing so you know where the focus point is.
@@stevelitton Ah, thanks Steven. If you have any step by step guidance about how to remove the four white focus corners completely, I'd be so grateful. They are present in any of the three focus modes. Seen aLOT of forum discussions about this and no one has a solution. You're like, stuck with them =(
great stuff Steven - much appreciated. watching all your GH6 run thru's, with setting up 'pages'...are they able to be accessed thru the quick menu? assigned to a button? or do u have to dig thru the menu's? :-)
Hey, thank you, appreciate the support. So toggle functions can be assigned to buttons, just simple on/off tools. Then the quick menu can be used for slightly more complex options like frame rates and picture profiles where you have multiple options and need an interface to select one. Then for anything with multiple menu options, like the HDMI settings for example, you would need to assign a shortcut in 'MyMenu'. Hope that all makes sense, it's a bit hard to articulate in a comment 🙂
@@stevelitton ok..ta.. trying to get it sorted. so..outside the q menu (12 max?)....we can make 'my menu's'...with much more options then? can we assign this menu to a button? :-)
@@royaboat5315 it's all a bit confusing, you can have up to 13 custom modes (C1-4 and up to 10 custom modes on C4). So 13 in total. Each one can have its own Qmenu but the MyMenu is shared across all modes.
@@stevelitton ah cool. can we allocate a 'mymenu' to a button so its easily accessable? so basically - q menu only does 12 option.....so if u want to go above that....you need to setup a mymenu then? :-)
@@stevelitton cheers again! um...from reading the manual & playing around...it seems I cant assign 'my menu' (that ive made) to a Fn button or Q menu? Have you tried? ro :-)
Gday Steve...hows things? trust your well. quick question if I may? ive assigned 'photo style' to one of the Qmenu options....yet all I need inside that option is VLOG , natural and CineD at this stage. Do you know if we can delete the ~ 15 or so options like vivid and the like? ro :-)
Hey Ro, I'm all good thanks, hope things are good with you. Yes you can tidy those up, I covered that in a recent video here 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-No3RJCfJ3Oc.html Hopefully that helps.
I am finding the my GH6 does remember settings. For instance, I set the shutter to angle not SEC and then when I replace the battery, the setting has switched back to SEC. Am I missing something ?
Hi Dennis, it's a little confusing, if you are in the preset modes (iA/S/A/P/M) the last settings are retained. But if you are working in the Custom modes then the previously saved options are the ones that are restored after switching the camera off and back on. So if you switch in to C1 for example, you see that shutter angle is not there unless you saved it to that mode. The quick menu itself isn't for those kinds of settings, it's just for accessing quick toggle options. To have something like shutter angle in a shortcut menu you would have to use the mymenu functionality. Hopefully that helps and doesn't make it more confusing!
Yes, you can customise them for each mode on the dial which is really handy if you shoot in different video formats or switch between photo and video a lot.
@@stevelitton nice. but if we dont customise a Q menu for every mode on the dial.....will the Qmenu on that particular mode (that wasnt customised) just be random? or can we repeat the same Qmenu for all? :-)
@@royaboat5315 Oh sorry I see. you will always get the default one from the camera if you don't change it. If you want to carry one over to a new custom mode that you have made, you could just re-save that custom mode to a new slot and it will carry over. Then tweak your other settings accordingly.
