I have been here since the beginning of ringworm and I must say I miss the little quotes you used to have at the beginning of each video. I'm on disability and can't afford patron but I will always be here watching and eagerly waiting for the next video. As always stay safe and God bless from Missouri.
Working on that love seat reminded me of my wife’s cousin. He weight over four hundred pounds. He had only been to our place for a quick visit. Then he came for our family Christmas one year. The next day I noticed my favorite cough was broken. I tipped it over on its back and saw the oak frame was broken. Then I noticed my Lazyboy chair wasn’t working right. Yip. He had sat on that too. The frame was also broken. The next summer he came to a cook out. He sat on the end of my picnic table and broke a pine 2”x12” clean off. We never invited him back again. He came for two visits he had broken close to two thousand dollars worth of furniture. Glad to see your fixing it rather than just tearing it up. Later
I had the same problem with my office chair when it got a few years old. I tore it apart and added lumbar support and more padding in the seat and arm rests. It was way easier than I thought it would be.
OMG!!!!!!!!! This is the best video ever. Speaking from a guy who watches all of your videos in the comfort of his Electrical recliner, who has been sagging in the seat for four years. The only way to watch your videos is on my 52-inch flat LED screen. Yes, I am roughing it. I will go out on a limb and state most furniture is made this way. Your simple mind technique, well in a good way, gave me the best tip. As soon as my fingers get off this keyboard, I will perform your magic on my recliner.
Hope you find a puppy doodle soon. Our 9 yr. old golden retriever passed on Valentine’s Day and she can’t be replaced. Hope you come across a great dog. Really enjoy your channel!
I watch quite a bit of your content, and had no idea that you were planning to get a puppy. For some reason I was about to leave a comment saying I think you would be well served by a cat or a dog or both I’m so glad to hear it’s already a plan. Just remember, cats and dogs are one of the few things of ours that we shouldn’t try to tear apart and put back together again.
The couch project was right on time. We have a recliner that SHE wants me to lube the hinge mechanisms on. Same crappy support problems as your couch. I'll take a look at that as well. Thanks Ryan!
You have very quickly become my husband and i Saturday morning routine! We get out Saturday morning started with you. Been doing it now for about a year lol You are just so much fun to watch. Btw the "sponge" in the springs are to keep them quiet lol. Yes we talk to you like you can hear us like you do.
You probably won't get this, but, on your big thickness planer, tet waxing the table on the bottom. And clean the rollers with alcohol. The table will be slippery and the rollers will get traction. Just a trick that I learned..
lol, I’m a couch reconstructor too, but mine is welded. But now I’m going to have to reconstruct my chair… On hand lettering- break each character down into pen strokes, rather than continuous perimeters. So T is two separate strokes. And so forth. Makes your characters much more distinct, as the corners get much more sharp.
I go through a recliner every 3years and do a lot modifying. One thing that helps is to block up the front leg support try 1in or 1 1/2 makes a big difference 😊
Yes, I agree...Guess what? In the past two weeks, I had to repair my couch as well. The seat area would sink and it was hard to get up after being uncomfortable all along. The straps were loose so I stiffened them with wood strips. Much better...then I moved to the chairs in the dining room. They also needed foam attention after 3 decades, but rarely used. Added new strapping and 1" foam. I had reupholstered them twice...I will also need to work on my leather recliner... and so on...LOL
I have the same problem with my recliner lol. So o got a little stool that is the same height and I put a pad on it. Now my heels sit on it. When I'm not reclined I just push it to the side. I'm sure you will figure something out. The things you come up with is quite amazing.
I'm so glad to hear you mention a puppy again. I've wanted you to get a dog since I started watching you, which seems like forever ago. lol Love your channel. Can't wait to see the kitchen build!!
Made my big potato, egg, and ham scramble then sat down for some Worm. I took have a recliner needing servicing and repair. My woodshop is full of reclaimed pallet wood and some chainsaw milled stock. You should look at the amazing landing gear mechanism of a F/A-18 or other aircraft. This ole ARFF Marine was always amazed on how landing gear fit into small spaces of aircraft. Now maybe you start your side hustle of chainsaw furniture repair services. Those old OD green bed rolls were mainly for insulation from the ground. The idea of comfortable sleeping on them was not the desired design. I spent many hours of sleepless nights on them.
I have the exact same couch and love seat in the same colors. I've had it for years. I'm actually sleeping on the love seat. Because I have 4 puppies and a broken ankle. And I need to stay close to the woodstove that is so funny
One of the fun things about this channel is the video titles. You never know what is next. Maybe next week will be “Baking a wedding cake, in the woods, With a chainsaw” 😂
Watched my name being tattooed on synthetic skin... this is truly what the interwebs were intended for! Thanks Ryan and try not to let those saws get to cold
I think you could make yourself a nice wooden stool that you could put out in front of it or maybe something that can flip out from underneath so it doesn’t show while you’re just sitting down
Worm,,so awesome and you’re all most as crazy and funny as me 🤪🤣👏🏻😆love it and just got a bunch of milling stuff from Granberg and starting to get started too do things on my 225 acres, great videos brother
I don't know for sure but I strongly suspect the sponge in the spring is to dampen noise. I think if it wasn't there you might hear a noise from the spring every time you raised or lowered the foot rest.
Ryan you are an absolute Renaissance man. Is there anything you can’t do when you put your mind to it! Your tattoos of the bugs are positively beautiful. I’d frame them and hang them in your shower stall for that creepy edgy look you always go for. And the sofa, genius, who’d even think of tasking that big remodel. I have a bad back too and 30+ years on you and cannot find suitable cushioning for support
RYAN you mean to tell me you didn't find a nickel or dime under the couch ??? WOW that is great !!! Liked the way you fixed the couch that way !!! Yepper it is right a older pillow will be the same way for the batting !!! Put a design on the waste wooden garbage can that you made last weekend !!! It was great and that would have your art on the end of it for awhile then !!!
Those pads aren’t really to sleep on they are to insulate you from the ground without them it’s freezing, with them if you pick a place with fairly soft ground and your ok.
I know about what you mean a about your feet on the recliner. But if you look at it closed? There isn't room at the floor. Good luck figuring it out. Glad you could revamp you couch.
It's cool seeing my name tattooed! BTW, you reference the video of you bringing the couch in, but it doesn't seem to be in your history. You seem to be missing a few videos in the 130s.
alternatively boring, tragic, laughable, fascinating, enviable, incredible, hilarious and something else! ? Oh yeah, a lot like life its own self! I think Dr.John or Jimmy Buffet or several other great philosophers said that. Thanks for the wonderful content. 👍😂❤🎉
I gotta not. Do you know how an hinge has that pen? That goes in it. Put your hinge on the bottom side of it. And then you when you want your legs to be out further. Take that board that you make to make your legs. Go out further and just slide your pin in that hinge and have a board drops down and holds it up. Think about it
OMG!!! I need the foot rest extender and head/neck support extender on my chair! I am 5’ 11” and nothing is made for my height. Maybe I should by me a chainsaw….. nah my 36 year son would kill me. Lol
This might be a weird question, considering you're living in a forest, but somehow I imagine it's right up your alley: Can you build a boat with a chainsaw? 🙂
They use a u staple not the kind of staple that goes in a staple gun the ones I'm thinking about are more heavy duty. My grandmother did repository and slipcovers and drapes she had a nice business for meany of years I no over 25 years I use to go over to my grandparents and I would help her then if I wanted to make some extra money I would pinch pleats on drapes/ curtains the pleats are at the top where you put in the hucks to hang the drapes. I am betting you might like air brushing
If you only have one of anything that gives you some comfort, a good one of those is a wise investment. Of course, you can always suffer, and we'll always be here to watch it. A win-lose situation, perfect!
Gonna hold you to the puppy thing!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is wrong with picking a mutt up at the humans society? They need love to and they are the bestest.
when i first started watching you i never in a million years would have thought oh yeah someday i will be watching you in a cabin tattooing . its cool but there will come a day when you think i want to try it for real . my advice as a person who has them dont do it . but hey you could always sell them as art people dig that stuff . make a frame for them and sell them as ringworm art . ok well take care my friend work safe and wear rubber gloves and sterilize your gear cause aids and hep is no fun lol .
