Your MDX Type S’s Electronic Air Suspension improves passenger comfort and driving performance by adjusting the vehicle height while driving. Additionally, you can also improve the ease of entering and exiting the vehicle and change its appearance when parked by customizing the parked height.

I have a 11 MDX Adv with magnetic struts ($720 each) and shocks ($440 each). I replaced both front and rear under warranty for the 11 MDX. My 19 MDX Adv has electronic dampers at $735 each for the front assembly and $200 each for the rear shocks. The big issue is the limited run MDX Type-S and having parts available down the road. Next to impossible to find OEM magnetic struts/shocks replacement parts for the 07-09 MDX Sport or 10-13 MDX Adv.

How many years/mileage did you get out of them? We have a 2010 Tech that we bought new and was told back then by a Honda mechanic to stay away from the Advanced because of the suspension. We are forever grateful to have heeded his warnings, having heard the horror stories of how expensive and difficult it is to repair 😢

@@fabulousprofound I got 35,000 miles from the original front struts and the 2nd set of front strut are still good today. My original rear magnetic shocks failed at 105,000 miles and are still good today. I have +150,000 miles on my 11 MDX.

@@mrgold3591 I have to wonder how both the electronic and air suspension options for this 2022 model will hold up. I don’t know of any brand or manufacturer who has a solid reliable setup that dosen’t fail in the most expensive and complicated fashion 😩

@@fabulousprofound I've always had the option to convert my 11 MDX magnetic struts/shocks into the regular system found on the base and tech MDXs. I would have done that for if I didn't have the Acuracare warranty (probably around $500-$800 to convert all 4, same price as one front magnetic strut). Not sure if that will be an option with the +22 MDXs with electronic and air suspension.

When you blow out the Air Suspension prepare to mortgage you house to fix it !!!! No joke !!!

That's what warranty are for. But yes once the warranty but it's over it is not cheap to replace them. On the Lexus GX, it also cost arms and legs for it.

If you can afford to buy a 70k SUV even after warranty, spending $3k to fix your air suspension isnt a big deal.

On a Pilot or an MDX you get unacceptable sag (IRS squat) on the rear when TOWING at 3000 to 5000 lbs. There does NOT seem to be a "Towing Mode". I used an airbag system in an older Pilot but in a perfect world you STILL want the steel springs too!. There should be a front/rear offset selected by the user. The trailer should be level and the vehicle should be level.
