I never knew how to use those holes on those crimpers. I knew it was for cutting bolts somehow, but never saw anyone use them to learn the process, so thanks for showing me how to use them.
Super Helpful. I have one of those wire strippers but never realized it was also a bolt cutter! Never needed to cut a bolt till recently. This helps out tremendously. Thanks a bundle!
Wouldn't it be a good idea to thread the nut in before you cut the bolt so then you can just back it out over the freshly cut threads and help reshape them?
Thank you for this video. I knew there had to be a reasonable method to shorten a machine screw without damaging the threads, and you've shown us how to do it. Went out to my local home improvement store and bought a tool similar to yours, and it worked perfectly to cut down the length of size 8/32 machine screws so I can now finally install my door pulls for my new kitchen cabinets. Perfect. Thank you again.
I always assumed, (yes, I know what happens when we "ass- u-m-e"), that those holes in a wire stripper were for cutting different gauges of wire. Of course, I guess they could be used for that also. I just never paid attention to the size markings on the holes or I would have caught on that they weren't wire gauge measurements. I never won medals for being overly observant.
