In fact, it is often the assistants who deserve more credit and not the magician. They are the ones who must have a special skill to move in a certain way and in a very restricted space.

Look carefully and you can see the hinged blade finish closing in the reassembly. Credit to the magician's assistants. They are the ones who distract, deceive, distort, and contort for the "magician" to successfully pull off the illusion. They're the one's making the magic happen in the most uncomfortable of places.

They all look like they are put together pretty well to me. I sure hope they get those boxes put back together in the right order. He has 192 combinations to work with. I'm holding my breath.

2:38 it's easy to see the difference between the front and back of the boxes. The backs are a few inches thick while the front is just the thin doors. Edit: 5:02 is even better.

Notice the magician doesn't show you the blade with the secret slit and quickly removes it. The rest he exposes both sides 😉. Try this with a fat assistant 😁!

Yup the other two, he knocks on to show how solid they are and he turns them vertically to the audience. The other one he doesn't knock on and it is always carefully kept horizontal.

There are a couple of bigger assistants and i notice they never do the tight spaces tricks. The one blonde that does the stretched assistant trick, I've not seen her as the primary assistant in any other tricks and the same with the assistant who is in the twisted assistant trick. The second one seems older in addition to not being as small.
