Perhaps for your plane level, you can add flying bombs with soldier hats and thunder clouds to serve as hazards with the cloud following you like a lakitu and trying to zap the plane

Perhaps also give the plane a shield attack to block incoming attacks from the front

U should do it on phones and I pads for people who they do not have the game.

the main problem with the general art id say is that you're treating it like "game art", all side on and flat, the key to making it feel like an actual cartoon is giving it depth, draw a 3D space but just add 2D collisions to it, I dunno, its your game, not mine, so you can do what you want with it, but this is just a suggestion
