How well can a battery powered chain saw cut down a tree? Turns out, pretty well! I decided to video me cutting a couple trees down as I clear some land for a backyard at our house! Hope you enjoy! So far I'm really happy with how well this Ryobi battery operated chainsaw works!
If you're wondering how to cut down a tree, there are other videos out there by professional's that can give you guidance....this video is not meant to be a tutorial!

Nice follow up to your First Cut and Demo video on this Ryobi 40v 14-inch chainsaw. Once you learn the difference in cutting methods between the battery and gas chainsaws, you start to appreciate the battery chainsaw more. Nice to see how a small battery 14-inch chainsaw is fully capable of felling those trees. My best advice with the battery chainsaws is to keep the chain sharp and let the saw do the cutting. You cannot bear down with your weight on these battery chainsaws like we did with the gas chainsaws. They are different. I use my battery chainsaw about 95% of the time now, and take out the gas Stihl chainsaw only for big jobs when long runtime is needed that I cannot cover with my batteries.

I have a rather small and very dead cedar to bring down this weekend. I've worked with a lot of dangerous tools but I've never used a chain saw. I'll be using a battery-powered one like yours to cut the tree. Thanks for the straightforward video, I'm feeling confident about getting the job done right.

After watching this video above. I feel almost the same way you do about cutting down a tree Dave. This guy in this video above made it look so quick and easy to cut down a tree to me.

Thank you for doing a demo and unboxing of this chainsaw! I got one for Christmas aaand it's still in the box because I've been a bit intimidated by chainsaws lol! That's about to change today, thank you 😊 🙏 ☀️

got the same battery saw. i have cut up to 16"-18" maple, but this so is better for limbing, and trimming tree tops before bucking, or felling. also much safer if you must go in the air, or climb.

Ryobi also makes an 18-inch 40v chainsaw. It looks like the same 40v motor. I contacted Ryobi Tools support and they told me I could use an 18-inch bar and chain on this 14-inch chainsaw. I bought an 18-inch bar/chain combo but have not used it yet. Should be a nice upgrade if it works.

Great video the only thing it needs is a close up of the stumps as the video fades out

I have a Cedar tree that is overgrown with briars and vines. I had to cut and chop just to get to the trunk. I followed all instructions but it still fell in the wrong direction (it was my first tree and it was already leaning). It wasn’t too large so I can still handle it. Thank you!

Dont forget to take the angle of the tree into account not all trees grow straight if you want to drop a tree and its leaning the wrong way you have to do it from the top to the bottom.

I don't cut that many trees down only small ones and prune branches, but at 0:24 when he reached his hand to clear that cut out , isn't that dangerous? Couldn't the tree possibly start to fall and pinch his hand between the cut out.

No, it's impossible
@nikereebokpuma3406
@nikereebokpuma3406 Год назад
No....because there isn't enough of the tree cut out to make it fall. That's the purpose of the cut on the back side.

The only thing I see wrong here is no hearing protection and those glasses are not the best protection.
@offgridwithdiv

It's not gas powered. Don't need hearing protection without the excessive decibels from a gas engine

Its an electric saw so hearing protection isnt as important as with a gas powered saw and gloves arent a requirement personally I cant use a chainsaw safely wearing gloves.

Seriously?? I've used chain saws all my life...Gas powered ones and I've never used ear and hand protection. Just like with weed eating.....I never use ear protection. And I still have excellent hearing.
