Saiga 12K is a wonderful shotgun, as a Russian gun it’s understandable that there had to be a built in feature to chop down trees for the harsh Siberian winters. Very neat

As someone who has actually done this, I can attest to how difficult it is. When I was a teenager in the south I hiked 2 miles through the woods to shoot down a Christmas tree. Took waaaay more shells than I thought. Carried it back 2 miles and when I got home my mother was pulling in the driveway with a store bought Christmas tree strapped to the top of the minivan.

When my kids were young I found a recently deceased pine tree that was about 12” diameter. From about 100 yards away I used my AK-47 clone to cut this tree down as a way to show how deadly firearms are. That demonstration was a great lesson. Since I lived in the country I had to have firearms loaded and easily accessible. My children knew firearms were tools to be respected
