buddy what an awesome video! intro is so epic, then the touching part with your sons music, then you push the tree over! You are a legend my friend haha!
So much respect for you Buckin!!! You are truly an inspiration to me as a man. Seeing someone who is so strong willed yet not afraid to stop and reflect and be grateful for what they have been through and accomplished is truly amazing. You are the type of man they write books about and will continue to inspire generations for years to come. Never Stop
8:46 that music was actually amazing pls tell me what song that was. Such a wholesome fucking moment man glad u didnt edit it out Edit: *The song is called “I dont miss you like I used to”
Too many seem to think hard, physical work and great wisdom are mutually exclusive. This guy exemplifies the truth. Which is that those things can very much coexist.
For anyone interested, that track playing from 8mins to 12:16mins is called 'I Don't Miss You Like I Used To' - off the first album ('The Pros and Cons of Business School') by Odd Neighbourhood as Buckin' says). Thank you so much Buckin' for introducing us to your son's band! As a musician myself I am so impressed with them and Travis.
In the heavenly realms of divine occupancy you shall rest brother Peart. The lads sound great! And what a Gorgeous axe! Vulnerability is strength brother, the pride a parent feels when experiencing the beauty of their child’s physical, psychological, and spiritual maturation is truly a beautiful thing and damn near brought me to tears watching you feel it. Peace be with you and your family friend.
Passion for Art, however it manifests, drives life. All too often, especially in 'the states' the emphasis is upon things that truly are trivial. Life is short, it truly is, and I take great compassion for those who have found themselves consumed by the world of distractions from following one's heart, calling, and living more freely. Follow your hearts friends, fell the fear, don't be afraid to cry when moved by Joy or bliss and in so doing not only is your life made better but the lives of all you interact with are made better. As Joseph Campbell might say "follow your bliss and you'll come to bliss".
In my Grandfather's day, he used an ax for the face cut, and a cross cut saw for the back cut. Used steel wedges if he needed to "apply some science" to help it fall to his liking. He was the absolute greatest example of a man I have ever known. I miss him daily, even after over 30 years.
George Martin Folks in todays world may not remember but I had my Dad, you your Grand Dad...Its up to us now or the youth of today will "ride that saw" instead of "tag team it" lol. Many Blessings, Kev
I found this channel recently and it really gives me something I didn't know I was missing. I am a lifer construction guy and craftsmen and our community seems to make being a jerk the norm. It is nice to see someone that does real tough work and appears to be so positive and wholesome.
Your in New York someplace aren’t ya? I been beaten my head against a wall I almost wanted to do what everyone else does and act like that but I found this channel in a nick of time then I survived!
Buckin' your videos are one of a kind and always put a smile on my face! Great way to either start or end my day. Many thanks for all the hard work in your profession and your videos!
Beautiful music, beautiful axes and some savage choppin of a tree, good mix if you ask me! Appreciate leaving in the emotional part, shows what great pride and love you have for your boy. That’s special, love the content as always!
That GBA is a laser. But that OX HEAD 🤤 drooling. Never delete PROUD dad moments. By the way... your a beast already with that axe. You can out swing 90% of the youth now a days. Be kind army.
Billy is a lot of things but he sure an'it a dancer.. LOL... No hard feeling Billy but your dance reminds me of Elaine's from Seinfeld.. Keep up the good work..
Pretty clean undercut for an axe job, very nice. You have a two-man crosscut saw Buckin? You and Hogan should do a video cuttin timber like the old school fallers... gun it with the crosscut saw, chop out the undercut, and finish the backcut with the saw and some wedge banging. That'd be cool.
Another soldier of the buckin' army from the Rheinland ; ) Billy Ray ist an inspiration for all of us. I'm from Ahrweiler, close to Bonn. Where are you from? All the best to you, Maximilian.
Thanks for stopping there and sharing the music. I went on Apple Music and downloaded their stuff. “The Pros and Cons of Business School” is a great album. Also, everyone needs to give “Cherry Wine” (single) a listen. I’ve been playing guitar for 26+ years now (since I turned 13) and they are impressive at such an age.
The music was amazing. It takes guts to show emotion like that in front of the whole internet. I respect you even more than I did before. Thank you for the video!
Hello again Buckin, thank you for fixing your video. Just wanted to say the boys are great musicians and to soak it into your soul and enjoy and embrace the love. Vulnerability strengthens you Right. I know you’re right. Live, love and enjoy the ride my friend. Love G-Man.
Hey Buckin thanks for not editing out the emotional parts. It looks great on ya Brother I Love It. Oh yeah and she chops eh. Those axes sir will chop. 🌲❤🌲✊
Brother - thank-you! I loved the musical interlude - so much so that I paused this once you were in the truck to head over to The Odd Neighbourhood on Bandcamp. That's some nice music like you said, and they are good... But the track they were playing when the moment took you - any idea on it's name or when it will be released?? Thanks again!! EDIT: I wrote to Travis and asked him directly - got the following back for anyone interested -----> Hi, Cleo! Thank so much for reaching out. I’m so glad you enjoy. That song is called “I Don’t Miss You Like I Used to” it is the 9th track on my first LP (The Pros and Cons of Business School) which is available on Apple Music, spotify, bandcamp etc,.. Thanks again so much Travis D Adams
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Thanks for the friendly welcome Buckin! Stay safe and alive. Love your videos and outlook on life! Btw I love the harmonica! It's a forgotten Talent and I miss it.
FYI a good man knows how to show his love with tears sometimes. Love your soul!. So sorry about your drummer who died.😢 He will live on through your music !. 💕 Rock on 🤘🏼 God bless Buckin & family!🙏🏽
BUCKIN YOUR THE STEVE RAY VAUGHN OF AXES AND POWERSAWS BUDDY YOUR THE BEST BROTHER 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😁 LOVE YOU LIKE A BROTHER MAN THE CHANNEL IS TAKING OFF LIKE A ROCKET
Man, GBA's are great. I love them. My favorite is a very uncommon 2 1/2lbs boys double bit on a 28" inch handle. That little thing is a good worker. Wicked sharp and blasts through pine like a blowtorch through butter. I don't get to use it much anymore, as Texas don't have the wood like Michigan. I knew a feller who had a GAB stamped axe. It was a Gransfors but we never could figure why it was stamped that way. Edit: I paused when you gave the name of the band and music. I got it off iTunes, it was beautiful music. The more I watch your channel Mr Billy, the more I enjoy your videos. It may not mean much for consolation but there is only 1 other RU-vidr who I address by Mister. That, for me, I got much respect . Thank you for this video.
The More videos I Watch, the More I Like (Love) your Video Content. I Subscribed after watching 1-2 videos after hearing about you on “Outdoors With The Morgan’s” RU-vid Channel. You Rock, Buckin’ Billy. 👍
Brother, this video was all over the place.... AND I LOVED IT! Keep being you. By the way that intro of you cutting down several trees on the ladder was so sketchy... Wow!
Great upload there drifter...he’s got his axe...will travel. Hogan’s band is great wish I stayed at it back in the day...I never sold the guitars just in case tho!
You are an animal. An absolute animal. Love your videos. My dad and I watch them together all the time. I can't even begin to explain all that you've taught me about splitting wood and wood in general. Keep em coming. Love from southern Ohio, USA.
Buckin, I emailed your website. But havent herd anything yet. Im interested in purchasing an ax from to help support the channel. Again another very inspiring, and knowledge sharing video! Thanks !
I've been a subscriber and have followed the channel for several years; and while I would not dare to presume to call myself a skilled tree faller, as a rural property owner, I taken down at least 200 plus sizable trees over my lifetime. Thanks to what i've learned via your channel, I have become both more confident and successful in tackling the larger, more sketchy and challenging falls proximal to buildings, fences and equipment. Thank you BBRS for having shared so many savvy tips and tricks of the trade. You've spared me both potential injury, damaged equipment, and saved me a small fortune; not only in arborist fees, but chains and sharpening services. We can file the latter under "Knowing how to properly file a chain." Rock the boat, baby! ;)
ok!ok! OK!!!!!! BUCKIN , THAT INTRO IS AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!! YES IM SHOUTING, CAN YOU upload IT ON ITS OWN PLEASE, it would be the perfect vid for the soldiers of kindness to share
I heard your sons Music and saw your reaction, it was truly humbling. You should be proud and we can tell you are, I've got my girlfriend listening to The Odd Neighbourhood now as well. All the best from the UK
