I've been watching you and August Hunicke for a while and wanting to try out climbing one, finally got the chance. Family friend with about a 60ft walnut, borrowed some gear from a buddy and climbed it. Used the tautline hitch, the peeler thing for branches and lots of other stuff I learned from this channel and August's, great info and I appreciate it so so much. I got that tree cut down, felt a little sketch a few times, like cutting the top and bouncing back and forth while holding on like a spider monkey. Long story short I got a nice big walnut log I'm gonna mill up into boards and make some nice stuff out of, couldn't have done it without the info in your videos, thank you a great deal. It's also kind of fun, killed my legs and abs though for 2 or 3 days.

i worked with a pipe fitter for a winter. we are talking 3-5 weeks straight at a time, 4 days off, back at it. this is pretty close to the territories, so a long winter. likely november til march. i learn more about feeling trees in one of your half hour videos (ive been cutting firewood for 13 years, i know the basics very well) than i learnt about pipe fitting in an entire winter with that guy. i love how you explain what youre going to do and why, before you do it. followed by how the out come was and why, or how it could have ended differently. WHILE YOURE DOING IT, not on the ride home from in the truck when the newbie has already forgotten what youre talking about. love the vids man, you seem to a great father from where i stand, stay safe friend

Yeppers , with the wrap handlebars , dogs and bigger clutch cover the 572xp makes for a formidable felling , bucking saw ... When ported for torque with high bmep it really comes to life ... smoothest saw I’ve ever run and the AV is killer ... The 500i AV isn’t to my liking for what I do ... The AV is too soft East west and flops around like a salmon on the creek shore - plus it’s quite abit more ... A guy could send me his 572xp for “hop-ups” and end up with a ported saw that will make mincemeat of the 500i for FAR less coin ... it also uses FAR less fuel than the 500i ... and this is comin from a STIHL guy !!!
