THIS OLD GROWTH DOUGLAS FIR TREE, WAS A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN, . IT BLEW DOWN IN A WIND STORM . THE 394 . TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS BUCKING IT UP AND WE ROO;LED IT OFF THE TRAIL WITH SOME OLD SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY
IT HAS BEEN A BAD STORM AND WE ARE NO OUT OF IT YET IT IS NOW DEC 26 TH AND AS I TYPE THIS I AM FULL OF GRATITUDE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO COME HERE DAILY, AND SHARE THERE LIVES. IT LOOKS TO ME , WE HAVE SOME MORE OF THIS WEATHER,, BE KIND TO EACH OTHER
yes, sir, we got some serious weather coming down to WestVirginia got my saws sharp my axes even sharper got my winch gassed up and got firewood in ready for this bad boy to hit a Buckin be safe man ill pray that God watches over you be safe out there owe yeah the duel pipe is the sickest mod ever on a saw
this reminds me of my buddy todd. our boss had a myrtle log to resaw on his woodmizer band saw. the log rolled off the platform, todd tried to stop it, and it squished him. broke his leg into pieces. he ended up airlifted to san francisco for surgery, where he recovered. he ended up quitting the timberframing, carpentry game, went to med school, and ended up a doctor. it's like the good thing that comes out of the log rolling the wrong way. :) years later i got some of that myrtle wood, and had it resawed into guitar parts. made a few guitars out of it, and the gal that resawed it for me turned out to be a friend of todd, so we had a good talk about the log that broke todd's leg. small world. but interesting. love your videos.
Geez! When you're cutting the compression from under, you could use the chips that 94 is throwing for crowd control. Sawdust pouring out like a fire hose! Awesome footage.
I popped back in to wish a Merry Christmas to you Buckin', your entire family and ALL 38 thousand members of the Buckin' Army. May all of you find have peace, love and happiness all around you. Blessings to you all.
I absolutely love how excited this man gets about bucking logs and an honest days work. If everyone had his attitude there's no telling what we could do! Well done my friend and I hope 2019 will be prosperous and safe for you and your boy!
Sir, respect to you. You sure know what your doing with a chain saw but more than that, your wise, your modest and you have a big heart. Your a good guy

Man those saws sound like they mean business idleing away there, sweet, sweet power, ya gotta love it!. And holy moly that’s some spectacular timber!! You guys are the business!, keep it coming please. Also I just want to say that the way Buckin teaches and treats his son is just so lovely. Bring the youth along with you, not below you. Love.

I'm loving your channel and your message. I live in north east Washington but I have a lot of family on the island. I have family from Victoria to Campbell river. My granddad, father and uncle worked in the woods on the island. All of them now rest in Nanimo, God I miss them. Thanks again for your channel when dad was passing I spent a fair amount of time walking at raftriver park by Parksville. Bless you brother.
I can see why you feel so alive out there. BC is a beautiful province, you got your boy with you, your both healthy, its a beautiful day, the air is clean and refreshing, you got a job you love. What more could a man ask for. It doesn,t get any better then when you said " I feel so alive " at that moment and time. Dang , i feel content just watching. Great video, thanks for sharing. Stay safe, love life. Mark.
Its so cool to see you taking the time to move huge logs to make the trail have more character. Love the idea and learning how to move those big buggers.
Merry Christmas from Tommy's woodpile And tall tales ! In Elfin Forest, North San Diego county, CA. I never grow tired of watching this channel. Peace, love and SAFETY to all.
I feel the same way love challenging myself! Merry Christmas to all out there be kind and give a little. Kindness is contagious hopefully it will spread worldwide.
Interesting what you said on this programme...In Chapel this morning (I help out with Sunday School) and the topic of conversation was being good, nice, kind etc. To one another. I helped a little girl find her older sister...(they aren’t regulars to our Chapel). The mission was accomplished but to my surprise, she said “I am your friend now”...I also run my own little youth group. Their parents are near by and one or two come up and join in. We enjoy a pleasant interaction, but most importantly, I feel I have found love, thanks to the Lord.
Very nice job!! Clean and no stress on the job, That ma'friend is the key to having a great day and the day going by faster because the job is fun. Love watching and learning from other people in the same field as me.
I miss cutting down trees and splitting wood with my Dad and Uncle brought back a lot of good times Happy New Year and Thank You 🙏 for the memories!!!!!!!!!
Another brilliant video bill. It's awesome to see Hogan never does nothing. Always cutting or raking. Never standing on his phone like So many of us young guys
Merry Christmas Billy, Hogan and all the buddies on the channel! Its such a joy and inspiration to see you drop the ideas of how things should go so fast when they dont and not take it seriously or personally. Life is a flow and we can choose to stay in that flow and enjoy it. Loves ya all! Be kind to each other and gentle to your selves!
Great job guys. Nothing like seeing father and son with the same purpose. perfect the first strategic cut. With your permission I wrote Bill.good machine Echo. I love the modification of the Husqvarna.
Merry Christmas Bill. You spend a beautiful evening in family and Merry Christmas to all the members of the community. a big hug for everyone from Spain.
Iv had many high end saws and I tell yeah I absolutely love my echo a good full chisel saw blade and clean out the choked out exhaust and man she screams and Billy u are by far my favorite guy to watch full of love for people and the gorgeous trees it amazes me the level of knowledge u have I love u find love and happiness in hard work
Hey Billy, Love your attitude, spirit and technique . You are an excellent instructor, earning respect from the young man working with you will show it's rewards. Every move you made in your cutting was performed as I do myself. You are right about life being so short, as the hazards are among the highest in our occupation, I lost my little brother, while cutting timber, safety is accompanied by situational awareness, however there are instances that are totally unpredictable, that can and will happen in one's career. In my youth I stuck to the words that the old men shared with me. You should never think you know it all, keep the attitude of learning thru your entire career, as soon as you know it all is when your career will end. I have packed too many men from the woods who claimed to know it all. KEEP BUCKIN N GRINNIN BILLY! ps give your partner a log wrench also..HA HA
Wasn't sure what you were doing there for a minute, I thought you were building a fancy sawdust fountain for all the park guests to admire. That saw is hot!
Merry Christmas Buckin to you and your family and Merry Christmas to the Buckin Soldiers of Kindness hope everyone has a fantastic day tomorrow spending time with the loved ones x

@@BuckinBillyRaySmith people who become great at what they do are those who love what they do i developed the passion for it first time I held an axe, I was eight I summer when I didn't have to go to school all I could think of was chopping wood and felling tree (dead ones mostly in summer)to an extend that every one in the neighborhood who wanted to fall a large tree would call my dad and with his permission I would go and do the task you know Iranians absolutely love American tools and if they could afford it it will be their first Choice without doubt of course it's hard to find them here unfortunately we all know why ,finally my dad bought me an American carpenters axe later I found out it had took him along time to find it I don't use it anymore it's to valuable to me .I enjoy watching your videos alot and wish you the best.
