The incompetence in South Africa's police service is monumental. Random criminals don't commit the same crime, in the same area, targeting the same victim type; this is the clearest evidence of a serial killer operating in the area, one who is unlikely to ever be caught since the authorities are taking the cases on an individual basis. Not to mention that neither the documentary crew or villagers seem to recognize the hallmarks of a serial killer, ignorance will be the death of the African continent. One can only imagine how many active serial killers there are in the country who have yet to be identified as such.
African societies have their traditional courts (eg Ghotla, etc) and traditional guards (eg Sungusungu in Tanzania and Kenya); that enforce tradition in our societies.. why all of a sudden we think the detectives and the police are an answer in these remote SA communities while men and women are supposed to safe guard and ensure there is security in their neighbourhoods?? It comes down to laziness and denial that after 1994 Africans are supposed to abandon systems and traditions that did safe guard their lives and affairs for millennias.. Return to the basics people.. stop acting like assholes .. Its just disgusting that helpless women and children and get killed and still there isn't any local effort; but reliance on the police who don't even have a post nearby.. REALLY?
