I have a two block haircut so her hair would be considered medium length to me, she only took a little off. When I cut my hair I usually shave the sides and back to like 3/4 and trim the rest to around 2 - 3 inches so my bangs touch just barely above my forehead. I only ever let my hair grow a few cm longer than my eyebrows before I have to cut it all again. I originally had hair past my ass like 6 - 7 years ago, then chopped it off into a short boyish pixie cut. What is considered short or long varies by person, some people think taking an inch or two off is a huge difference. I personally never cared for long hair so it wasn't a big deal to me, it most likely is a big deal to her.
