I did try the 57 with the idea of just having one machine. The 57-5 didn't seem enough more than the 40 for what I wanted a bigger machine for. And I didn't want to give up the 6 way blade on the 40. The 080 is a better match with the 040 imo. If only one machine then the 057 is super nice. Then again, Jeramy has used the 040 class machine for decades. Its easier to move around from job to job. 057 weighs 2k more.
You mentioned that the 40 is quick and makes them easier to be jerky and because of that many people will run them throttle down. Is it better on the hydraulic pump to run them at full throttle?
I don't think it makes a difference on the pump, but it definitely is better on the dpf exhaust filter. Running full throttle will make the dpf last longer and less regen. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
Jeramy, when you say you would have needed the "ripper" with the 40, what do you use for that? Is it a single tine or that thinner bucket with the teeth?
The toothed bucket is a 36" and am not sure the volume of it the smooth bucket is 5' and from how many scoops it takes to load the truck, it has to be a touch over 3/4 of a yard. Hope all is well and have a wonderful day 😀
