Cutting Your Fabric Strips! ~ Finding the Grain! 

Hello! I agree! I think personally the threads lend itself to the vintage appeal of rag rugs! Our ancestors wouldn't have cared about the threads. The rugs were more practical then - something to help insulate from the cold & keep the floors of their sod homes less drafty & dirty. But ... it is also a real luxury working with bias cut fabrics & fabrics that don't have as many threads like Batiks!! Thanks for reaching out & watching! Your words are appreciated!!

Hello! Cut in the direction that preserves as much of the fabric as is possible. In the case of recycled jeans, I would cut the length of each leg. I would also remove the back pockets to make those cuts even longer. Thanks for watching & reaching out!
