Thanks man! I think Marvel vs. Capcom (just like Super Smash Bros. Melee) showed us Americans just how many games and characters were exclusive to Japan. Definitely was pretty mind blowing.

@@RewindArcade I know this is a 2 year old comment but if Capcom ever made a MVC 4 (not counting Infinite) I would love to see Capcom put Devilotte on the roster and her moveset could be similar to Donrojo from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom where Dave and Xavier would come out to assist Deviloette on the battlefield and her supers would be mixture of both powerful and comedic simliar to Doronjo.

@@RewindArcade yeah, getting to know those obscure origins and facts are always my favorite retrospectives, and it's one of the things that makes playing retro now so exciting to me. Also, I had absolutely no idea where Devilot came from and learning that was so cool...loved that kid's completely crazed up face :D

Definitely agree, haha! Devilot was who I played in Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo and I have a random figure of her from a Kinu Nishimura blind box series so learning more about her was cool!

Thanks for the kind words! I've always been a fan of the game throughout the years and wanted to try and put more of a spotlight on it. I think you should still make your video on it though. Everyone has different thoughts and opinions on a game so it's always nice to get different perspectives. At one point I wanted to make a video about the history of the Ghosts 'n Goblins series, but was hesitant to do so since there were already so many other videos on RU-vid that had covered it. I was passionate about the series though and decided to make it anyways. It's now my top performing video of all-time. I don't think there's anything wrong with retreading a topic, just make sure you put your own spin on it. Anyways, sorry for writing you a book, haha. Thanks for watching!

@@RewindArcade I haven't played Cyberbots, btw. Was looking for a video after being reminded of the re-release coming soon. I HAVE, however, played Armored Warriors and I love it.

It certainly was a late beat’em up game which would make a lot of sense. After Street Fighter II launched, the arcades were never the same.

@@RewindArcade In a way, Street Fighter helped kept the arcades alive longer in North America. In the mid 80s, sometime after the crash the home console market was putting a huge dent in arcades. Capcom saved them.

@@Theshark15z Oh definitely! Street Fighter II was MASSIVE and revitalized arcades in the West (and made them even bigger in Japan). The only downside was that it started a big shift in the type of genres developers were willing to create for arcade boards.

Oh wow, I just looked it up and you're totally right, the resemblance is pretty crazy! What's funny is I always forget I made this video and the Little Nemo one since they both took less than a week to make, haha.

@@RewindArcade To be fair, I've been using the pandemic as an excuse to get caught up on some anime I've only heard about. I love Gundam. Being a big fan of the model kits, I've come across some of the VOTOMS stuff from time to time. I finally started watching the original series recently and it's absolutely fascinating. The mechs aren't powerful enough to last a whole war like the Gundams. Instead, they're almost disposable. I feel a bit of that in Cyberbots as well, where the pilot is the most important thing and the suits are more of an after thought. Anyway, great series!

@@RewindArcade I'm old school, man. Rightstuf had the blu-ray collection on sale a few months ago. Basically all of VOTOMS (and there's quite a bit) for the price of a new game essentially. I haven't checked if it's streaming anywhere. I know there's a VOTOMS spin off called Armor Hunter Mellowlink that is onRU-vid though and that is also worth a watch.

Yeahhhh, my Dreamcast disc reader died and I tossed it not knowing it could easily be replaced, then my entire DC game collection got destroyed in a house flood so the fates have not been kind to me over the years, haha. 😅
