Slight correction. Playstation removed the game from its store, initially, due to CDPR's "no questions asked" refund policy, which was antithetical to Sony's "no refund" policy. They even admitted to it at the time.

I’ve had this game since launch on the ps4 (and now I have the ps5 and the ps5 version). This game, despite all the bugs and mess it had, has quickly become one of my comfort games. It taught me so much about to just “live in the moment” and “be who you are” and that’s a lot for someone who has anxiety and depression like myself. I’ve played this game while going through a lot of hardships in my personal life and I always enjoyed the action but also the tender, vulnerable, moments as well. I’ve recommended this game to anyone who would listen to me to be honest. I’m happy whenever I see someone else playing the game for the first time, it makes me smile to hear what they thought.

I love that! I love when games like these help prop us up when and where we need it. Mass Effect LE landed in a super fragile moment for me and I love and appreciate it all the more for the reminders and lessons and perspectives it helped me form. Shepherd was a real mind-mentor for that moment!

Finished Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty a couple months ago and man was it an experience. The lore, characters, and the setting of Night City is so good. If anybody has not read the sourcebooks yet go ahead and give them a try it gives you so much info about the universe and what happened before 2077. Excited for Cyberpunk Orion and Kala thx for Cyberpunk content 🙏

As a huge fan of The Witcher 3, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age; Cyberpunk was exactly what I was hoping it would be, and that was at the games launch. It’s only gotten better with all of the updates and the amazing Phantom Liberty expansion. If Cyberpunk’s sequel improves like every Witcher game has over the last, then we’ve got a lot to look forward to.

I used to dislike 1st person games. I was very disappointed that CP 2077 was going to be 1st person, because if I'm spending so much time creating a character, I want to see them. CP 2077 made me love 1st person. I was SO immersed. It was like I was there. The world was alive around me and I was just a cog in the wheel trying to make my place in that world. This will be a game that I will go back to. I love your channel and I look forward to all of your content.

I hopped into the game around patch 1.5 when the game was just starting to come into it's own, literally just as a way to test my new computer's capabilities because it was on sale anyway. It easily ascended to my top 5 games of all time to the point where my interest in the setting extended beyond the video game and made me deep dive into the tabletop lore rabbit hole which gives you a greater understanding of the many conspiracies and events of the game V is given unreliable narration of. Even the NCPD scanner hustles which are just killing mini-quests actually connect to the greater story of Night City. Also Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the only games where despite the protagonist's imminent death, the pacing allows you to immersively do side quests by having characters need to do a day or several of prep work before they reach out to V after each major plot event, which encourages you to pursue any of the other main quest lines or tackle some side stuff at your leisure. Also one of the few worlds in a game where I NEVER make use of fast travel despite knowing it's an option.

This review was fantastic. The way you break down the game into tangible elements instead of piecemeal parts, and the whole “if you like…” is perfect. I played it when it first came out on the PS4 pro and haven’t touched it since. I’ve been trying figure out if it’s worth picking it back up and getting the expansion. You really reminded me exactly what I loved about the game despite the flaws and succeeded where a lot of reviewers failed for me, thank you. Definitely subscribing!

I think the best part of CP 2077 for me besides the Lore is that it really captured the feel that all sacrifices made and everything you did really did not change much in the grand scheme of things, the cogs of the corporate hellscape just went on while you do everything to leave a mark, one way or another. Not many Games really captured that type of dread for me, mostly the Fallout Games and Deus Ex comes to mind. What CP 2077 however does best among these games for me was how much the writing and voice work of the characters did to make you feel like you were part of the world and how organic it felt. Beginning with how much judy and panam distrust you and going with your work how they will open up to the point you could romance them. While they botched the job with the small amount of time jackie gets how the romances with river and kerry feel like an afterthought i still get brutally immersed in the games in a good way. It's also a really good writing insofar that the combination of ending states really captures how you can't make everyone happy and in the end V does what is best for V, a classic cyberpunk story where there is no happy ending but just a different type of bad ending for everyone involved. But the other thing besides bad ass techies which get me hooked is the Lore, i really _really_ like how futuristic but also grounded cyberpunk as a genre feels. Of course as a genre that evolved since the 80s you will see that many also go into a more sci fi approach but the underlying premise of late state capitalism corporate hell where the single individual really makes no dent is really eerie in our current times.
@nickohhh
@nickohhh Месяц назад
Yah well said on all tings! I actually ended up with a really optimistic happy ending for my V after using Phantom Liberty to launch into the big finish. It's fairly head-canon, but the way my ending happened is completely made for that, and I was so satisfied with it. It didn't feel bad at all (well, bar one detail about a certain chappie I recently rescued from a burning building but we'll say no more of that and I decided it didn't happen anyway😬)
@dirtybrokkoli
@dirtybrokkoli Месяц назад
@@nickohhh For me there is also only one ending, that's the cool part of cyberpunk i really can't choose that much different options since it's so immersive, i personally just can't decide in another way most of the playthroughs. And i think what happens to certain characters in different states of your playthrough really captures the essence that everyone is only out for themself. Just a constant meatgrinder in which your option is just a given and not a choice. You can already see that starting with the corpo path. What happens to the burning house man is another great execution of that premise which truly sucked but he chose what he chose. There is one (and a half) ending though which is just ultra brutal and while i like it as very fitting to the genre the performance of judys VA + the animations is just too much oof

Going back in time recently, there have been very few games that really got me invested. I've played a bunch, but only a few have really gotten their hooks in me over the last few years. Chronologically, they are: Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring, TLOU2, and Cyberpunk 2077. The first three, no surprise, were games of the year. Cyberpunk did what it did during it's launch, but of all of them, it may have been the one I was most invested in. It took me out of this world, and into it's own. That's what I'm after.

Good review, and I want to add something that wasn't touched on in this video, which is understandable since most people, unless they have some kind of photographic memory or something, wouldn't catch these things. There are so many mini stories and characters throughout the game that are connected to each other, and you'll really only catch that if you've played the game a lot and read the shards and really paid attention to the names involved. For example, if you go around finishing the ncpd scanner hustles in City Center, you'll come across shards involving a certain Joanne Koch. She's from Biotechnica and her project involved performing inhumane experiments on nomads. Now you'll get a gig later on where you'll have to deal with her and her fate will be yours to decide. If you decide to kill her, you'll get a shard from her body and it's her correspondence with a certain Dr. Sophia Vergara. Joanne Koch was asking for her help in her experiments but Sophia Vergara said that Koch's methods doesn't value human life and she's against it. Vergara goes on to say that her program always has the consent of the participants. Now if you've played through the expansion, you'll know who Sophia Vergara is. She's the head of the project where they put Dogtown kids in a program to make them athletes which until now is one of the most controversial side quests in the game, possibly in gaming in general. To this day, I still see heated debates about it online. That's just one tiny example of how so many of the characters and events in the game are connect to each other and when you catch them, it feels very rewarding because it adds a lot to the world building of the game. This is the type of game that really rewards you for stopping by and smelling the roses. -Also about bugs. All that's left really are bugs that you'll find in most big games. I'm playing GTA 5 nowadays, a game that's just universally loved and is famous for being polished, but I've already noticed some annoying bugs like when I bought a suppressor for Michael's pistol, the suppressor model is not on the gun, and then I realize it's actually floating and that's why I don't see it on its barrel. The taxi system is also broken. I've only tried it two times and both times didn't work. The first time, the taxi driver kept trying to drive through a wall. The second time, the taxi driver stopped on a red light and just got stuck there even when the lights turn green, the taxi just won't move.

I'm currently on my 4th play through going through Phantom liberty on my Xbox X with the last 3 on the Xbox 1 with me getting the current GEN version basically for free because I still have the old version. Nothings quite more satisfying than seeing upgrading after I installed it again with no need to buy the game twice but still getting the modern version. And I used to say my favorite game of all time was a three-way tie between resident evil 4 dead rising one and team fortress 2, but now I say it's a four-way tie with cyberpunk being the 4th game that's how much I liked it. And yes Johnny is definitely one of the greatest characters ever getting more deep with each play through with the vast majority of the other characters blowing mass effect's roster out of the water for me personally. They just felt more like real people in comparison. Seriously I've been waiting for a game like this since I played Deus ex 2 invisible war being let down by the mass effect sequels as well as Deus ex's continuations finally getting the action RPG with deep gameplay I've been yearning for for like 15 years. Honestly who needs mass effect when you've got cyberpunk

One other note, based on your tweet. I would absolutely watch Cyberpunk content on your channel. Never mind that it's an older game. There are still people doing content on decades old Fallout lore, so if you're feeling it, do it! I bet there's TONS of storytelling on those shards to mine and tease out. I picked up everything I could find, but didn't really dive too deep into them because it would have disrupted the game flow. Also "made people kill themselves...it was a lot of fun" is a wild sentence out of context.

I personnaly really liked the overall Night City atmosphere. Desperate people trying to survive in a horrible city, gouvern by corpos and those without moral or desperate enough to do their bidding. Plus, the OST caputure that really well. The gameplay, the interractions you have with other caracters, the choices (impact by your competence and your origin), are really good. But i really liked the evolution of V. More precisly, how you want your V to be. You have so many possibilities to create different V, its amazing. This also why i didn't really liked the way you can chose your ending. It looks like what we have in Mass Effect 3, enven if the endings are (like you said) really different. But it isn't really the consequences of your previous choices, just an other choice. SPOIL : I was expecting an ending where you can fuse with Johnny, the same way you fuse Delamain and his children. I'll have to settle for the star ending.

This game is currently my all time favorite. CDPR can easily just add more and more to Night City and I'd gladly pay for years to come, but I know that's not going to happen. The big changes in 2.0 did things I thought they'd never consider and it's all the better for it. Also, Keanu really made Silverhand. At first I was bothered by the Hollywood celebrity thing and not trying to match more with the source material, but he absolutely nailed it. Probably one of the best things he ever did.

I almost exclusively play 1st person RPG like Might & Magic, Elder Scroll & Fallout. I wasn't interested in isometric or 3rd-person shooters. So, graphics performance is very important for me. I started playing CP2077 last year after patch 1.5 on PC. It was very stable by then and I didn't have any of the show stopping bugs. It was a blast especially at highest difficulty! Phantom Liberty was great and Idris Elba put up a fantastic performance! Too bad there wasn't any interaction between Johnny Silverhand & Solomon Reed. I honestly cannot remember why I got into Mass Effect. It was a linear 3rd-person shooter "light RPG". That's not the usual genre that I would get into but boy am I glad I did! The lore is so rich, like Elder Scroll, Fallout & Cyberpunk. Now I'm waiting for Starfield Shattered Space. Loads have been said about how disappointing Starfield was but like Mass Effect Andromeda, this is a new IP. Yes, I consider MEA a new IP because it happened in a new Galaxy. I believe in giving it a chance. Mass Effect 1 wasn't great but it had an engaging story and wasn't pretentious. I really hope ME5 comes soon. In the meantime, I will replay Cyberpunk as a Netrunner.

I have sunk 1,000+ hours into Cyberpunk, certainly one of my favorites. I don't fully agree with the first person view though - I think taking a leaf out of Bethesda's play book and having the option to switch between first and third person would have been perfect. I have been modding the game for a while and there is a Third person mod - that whilst not perfect, does give me a taste of what could have been with a third person mode. Here's hoping that they look at that aspect for the next one...

I think that Cyberpunk was a really good warm up for Cyberpunk 2. For the sequel i think they will deliver what majority of people wanted for the original (immersive rpg full of choices and consequences with meaningful backgrounds). PD: With Phantom Liberty they did a phenomenal job. Was clear that they listened the feedback. All the side missions have impactful decisions to make.

Could I ask what about the driving you disliked? It’s one of my favorite things to do to drive around night city in all its many vehicles so I’m curious what you would like to improve about it? One thing I will say is that I don’t like the new driving combat, I liked the way it was before the patch for that but that’s a personal nitpick
@kalaelizabeth
@kalaelizabeth Месяц назад
For me the driving either felt too sensitive or not sensitive enough and I grew up on grand turismo and other races games so I enjoy driving, but I could never get it to feel right in cp2077 unfortunately, which was fine, running everywhere was fun ha

Cyberpunk 2077 is without a doubt my favorite all time game. I have played it since launch and can't get away from it. I have almost 3000 hours in the game. I have played all 3 live paths, with both male and female characters, and all endings, and am on my 2nd play through since PL expansion. I guess I have only 100% the game twice, but as you said there is so much to do in the game and find something new each time which makes it hard to 100% the game, and sometimes truly not sure it is possible. The expansion did bring new life to the game and made it even a more amazing game. I'm not real sure why I am rather partial to the female V even though on most games I do use the male character if given the option. This is one game that I have truly found myself immersed in and so emotionally attached to. I watched Kasta stream the game on Twitch and she had published her steams here on RU-vid and you can see how emotionally invested she got into the game as well. If you don't mind spoilers and really want to see some good game play with great conversation find her streams and you will get pulled into the game too. Yes I love the game and highly recommend the game to all.

If you didn't enjoy driving, I assume you mostly drove in 3rd person. If so, I suggest trying out and getting used to driving in first person. It's a lot of fun and the driving mechanics in CP77 feels quite realistic. It also depends on the car. Some cars are quite hard to handle, some are really good.

I have loved this game, warts and all, since December 2020. Yes, mistakes were made and even the developers admit that the game didn't live up to their vision at launch....but I still give them kudos for being willing to completely leave the comfort zone of their Witcher games, and try something 100% brand new. I am very keen to see how Orion pans out, given their past experiences with developing CP2077.

I'm glad you enjoyed CP77! This is my favorite video game of all time. I was turned off by the first person when I heard that and almost skipped over the game. However, my love of the cyberpunk genre broke me down and I bought it when it first released. I played it on PC in those early release days and didn't have any crazy bugs like console players did. After my first play-through I immediately played it again. I have played it after every major update for a total of six times for each life path with both genders. The game now is quite different from when it launched with a better skill tree and many many other improvements. I have nearly 1,000 hours in Cyberpunk 2077 and only wish there was more, but I guess I have to wait for Orion whenever that is launched.

Hi Kala Elizabeth....been following you on X...fun to see your final thoughts on this great game. No it's not perfect...other games have done certain aspects of the game better, I guess. However I don't think any other game [in my experience anyway] has done so many things so well, and wrapped them all up in an intriguing, absorbing story with such fascinating, carefully drawn characters. It's not a simple game...forgive me if I say that putting 'merely' a couple of hundred hours into it is barely scratching the surface. I've played _thousands_ of hours and I'm still finding new details and aspects I've never encountered before. And only a single playthrough of Phantom Liberty...I still have to find three more endings there. The endings... The endings in this game aren't about finding love or happiness [although sometimes that happens to some degree]. It's about how a person seeks one destiny, and discovers that fate has different plans...and then standing up against fate...but then accepting it, just as we all must in real life. Not the happiest thought, but it's so real I think some people have difficulty accepting it...and so they say 'this game sucks!'. I talk about this on my own channel...gameplay and commentary, and thoughts. I don't know if I'll ever tire of this game, thinking about it, hearing other people's thoughts. It's a part of my life now...the way a great novel or movie can become part of someone's life.

Cherami Leigh is *AMAZING*, I strongly recommend everyone to check her other VA roles to see how versatile she is. For example, she is A2 on Nier: Automata (Game and Anime). Now talking about CP2077, this is definitely my favorite game, I did pretty much everything and I have more than 560 hours! I totally agree with Kala, did all different endings and each one is very different! I strongly recommend everyone to give CP2077 a chance!

👏👏👏 Yayyyyy great video! SO dleighted you enjoyed Cyberpunk so much. I LOVED it, it's in my top 5 games of all time easily. With the Phantom Liberty playthrough it gave my V such a beautiful maingame climax and ending too. It is such a rich world isn't it. Like you said, by no means perfect (oh my gosh lemme by queer and romance who I want pls!) but it's an even deeper xp than the Witcher 3 and I am so impressed with CDPR for turning things round like they did and for not only creating a DLC that is one of the best adrenaline-pumping stories I've ever had the pleasure of playing but also for taking a studio from toxic back to best-in-class with well-treated, well-trusted employees. So excited for Cyberpunk 2 and to get to dive even deeper into this rich and compelling world with even more choice and consequence and character depth and juicy narrative.

I really liked the CC, BUT you don't see your character a lot unless you actively look in the mirror and there are some instances where you see your character, but majority of it is in 1st person. Regardless I still bought every piece of clothing and played dress up and changed my characters appearance several times throughout the game because you're not locked in after the initial choices.

I love CP2077. I've had it since day one. Put almost 500 hours into it(an achievement for me). Written 220k word fanfic, and even bought merch for it. Something I've only ever done for halo and mass effect. And Even I can admit this game was an absolute clusterf**k at launch and that there is no acceptable excuse for why it was released in such a state. Especially on console where it made a Bethesda release look like a polished gem in comparison. I will cheer and clap for whatever CDPR releases next, but I won't be preordering it and keep a close eye on things when it's released.

Cyberpunk 2077. I played it when it basically just came out. Yes, of course it was terrible at first. It really was trashy as hell. I was on PS4 when it was out. But oh man. Did it get better. Edgerunners really helped sales out. And when i got it on PC. Holy fuck, the graphics were so much better. Rain actually looked like rain, i could also see all the little fake movie posters, graffiti and stickers scattered about. Like i spent my first seven hours just looking around my favorite places to take pictures at. Just being enthralled by tiny details. And i do love the new combat and armor systems. Really scratches the itch from getting a new change in that system.

I don't get how people can say a game is immersive in 3rd person. I don't really have a preference over 1st/3rd person but I've always thought 1st person was more immersive. More like you're inhabiting the characters. Cyberpunk is probably the best game I've ever played. 200hrs in my forst playthrough lol
