I really hope there's special dialogue not only for elf Rook but also warden Rook, since Solas disliked wardens so vehemently for no apparent reason in DAI. I need to know why, hence why I'll play as warden :D
Omg SOLAS!! It’s been years!! It feels like I’m seeing an old love. He looks handsome too! (His legs aren’t as long as there were in trespasser though)
Rook talks for herself way too much, more so than hawke and inquisitor. They really don't even allow to answer to "you have no idea what you did". And these are not some random ambient dialogue. I am still excited for the game, but that's a big L
Ashe wasn't kidding about the contempt he'd feel for Rook- like damn! As someone who always befriends him, this genuinely feels new. (Though not out of character thankfully)
The voice acting is good, so is the cinematography. But the writing and pacing are way too fast . 5 minutes ago you were fighting, and now there's a huge villain monologue/exposition and you're practically working for the same cause?. I hope the direction gets better as the game moves along.
I really love Solas's lines here. Especially the "depending on the story", so sassy! 😂 The only bit that I have a slight nitpick about here and in the earlier storybookish opening with Varric is that they say Fen'Harel is a god of lies. What we've seen so far in DA:I, is that Solas is actually a terrible liar. Sure, he is dishonest as hell, but the things he told the Inquisitor were never completely untrue. Like he said in Trespasser, he only lied to the Inky by omission. Speaking of Inky, I am curious to see what Solas's reaction to seeing them again might be. Perhaps it is different for every Inky based on the relationship they had with Solas? 🤔 As for my Rook, I am probably going to have him start his interactions with Solas as someone who doesn't trust him, but learns to do so as he learns more about Solas and his past.
What did Solas mean when he said the Evanuris used the powers of the Blight to become gods? If so, what about the Old Gods and the Magisters Sidereal like Corypheus?
I'm not a big fan of the art style here, but the cutscene looks great. It feels very cinematic, I love it. I can't wait to see my man in the game, and I really hope I get to see enough of him.
Oh hes such a sassy little sh*t, even trapped in the fade doesnt stop him from being a cocky know it all 😂 I think ill play my rook as humorous/antagonistic until she starts seeing his memories and will then begin to warm to him.
I was uncertain how to feel about the head to body proportions but with their focus on the head and facial expressions in cutscenes it actually works very nicely. I found myself settling into the style pretty quickly for this scene at least. I'm absolutely stoked to see how Solas and his relationship develop "depending on the story" you choose!
Solas saying he abhors blood magic is weird to me considering his dialogue in DAI. He seemed to be in favour of it there and viewed it as a tool. Not sure if this is supposed to hint he is misleading and manipulating us, or if it’s a retcon.
He isnt in favour of it, he just doesnt vilify it. Its a tool that would weaken his connection to the fade, of course he abhors it - especially if being accused of using it against someone he doesnt actually have power over
There is atill tine to change the Qunari foreheads...... PLEASE , they look atrocious 😭😭😭😭 Where are the smaller womans horns for example??? here's to hoping 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
So when Solos imprisoned at least these two Elven gods after they had been blighted. That means the dark city cannon is most likely unaltered. I’m still hopeful for this game but it could be setting up a visit there in a future game. It feels like a Mass Effect solve one major problem per game set up.
At the end of Trespasser, my Inquisitor declared he would find a way to redeem Solus. As a player, though, I never really liked him. I don't know how my Rook is going to interact with him.
Thank you for ANY footage! I'm a little disappointed by how you can't make extremely feminine or short characters (I guess we have dwarf for height though, so nevermind), but I'm astonished by how many options are provided. This has went far beyond my expectations. I also think Rook background clothes could have benefited from male and female types, since some aspects of the designs look more flattering on wide hips and the Lord's of Fortune armor is a bit awkward for a male body. But it's a minor concern since you can switch armor. I'm excited. If a little frustrated by how many major on a few options that can be easily ignored if desired for the slew of customization there is. BG3 and Cyberpunk have similar things, did they get this much hate for it?
Cant wait to be the most antagonistic bastard to solas. You CANNOT genocide a bunch of people to bring back a dead race. Like have some common sense man.
