Oh my, what an awesome analysis. I see that you got your time on this one. I avoided all the analysis and reviews I could, but I couldn't pass on yours. Well, I only skipped the final part about the endings and jumped to conclusions. Very well made video. I was feeling that I was going to find a lot to like in this game, but I'm still taking my time so they can properly fix it. Some are bugs, but some are cut features I would love to see them back. Hopefully by the end of the year we might have the game that was promised, if not officially, at least with fan mods. Great video!
Thanks for the kind words, props to you for avoiding videos, I did the same and it was so hard to do. I agree, hopefully with Patch 1.2 the game is a lot better, but I haven't played with the updates yet
@@anxietyreport9037 This is the game that surely worth coming back at a later date. DX:MD I played like crazy, the abrupt ending and problems bothered me a lot at the time, but it grew a lot on me over time, I bet it's the same case here. I'm a bit afraid regarding the situation of the immersive sims as a viable genre, because unfortunately CP77 burned down some bridges being such a problematic title. But we still have Deathloop coming and we need to see if it will fare well. Keep the great work!
Immersive sims are definitely under attack...they hardly ever do well commercially and you're right games like Cyberpunk with such a bad public reception don't help. We need an immersive sim to come out soon that is not only a great game but sells well so that other developers and publishers will want to make them
@@anxietyreport9037 Well. maybe in the end, they're the thinking man game, so they don't do so well commercially (CP77 was kind of an exception, but it was under special circumstances) and are very expensive to make. Let's hope for the best, hopefully publishers won't put a lot of pressure on these titles. DX:MD is still waiting for a sequel, and after Avengers fiasco, I hope they come back working on the game...
The endings are great but your choices throughout the game does not affect them. Do the missions and you’ll get to choose whatever ending you want. The Witcher 3, among other titles, nailed this aspect.
Great analysis! I was really glad someone finally talked about the Happy Together side mission. My first playthrough, I found Andrew’s niche but thought Mendez would make fun of Barry about the fact that Andrew’s a turtle, so just told them he was depressed and was absolutely devastated when I found out the next morning that he killed himself. I think it’s the only mission I saw in my playthrough that counted as completed but marked ‘failed.’ The game is no masterpiece, but small things like that really sold it for me. Like the Beast in Me races or the shooting competitions, where it’s not counted as failed just because you didn’t come in first place. It was a nice change of pace from most of the triple A games I’m used to.
I felt the same way. Like you say, it's no masterpiece, but I don't think it's worthy of the derision it got. Well, except for the technical performance, there's no excuse for that
Great video! I enjoyed the game, too (even on last gen hardware). One thing I want to mention: You can actually spare Royce in the mission. So you can end the mission without a single fight. This also has some impact in a later side quest where you can see Dum Dum again.
When I played Cyberpunk 2077 (over 550 hours) it always felt like this or that could have been dialed up a bit more to make it more immersive or exciting. Its very much hit and miss all over. But I loved what CD Projekt Red was attempting to do but unfortunately they stumbled right at the starting line.
Woah, you definitely have me beat on the hours...you've experienced EVERYTHING. Props to you. I agree, I also loved what CD Projekt Red was doing, it's too bad they underestimated what it would take to make it all work
@@anxietyreport9037 And its been over a month since I last played it. The 1.2 patch just wasn't enough to get me back into the game. Just waiting to see what they have to offer for future updates and DLC's. I did enjoy my time with it for the most part but there is so much in the game that I wish was better and/or more immersive. Hard to role play the hell out of this game when it restricts you at every turn or just flat out misses the mark.
@@burnout3722 Agreed, role-playing is just not fleshed out enough to give it the insane replay value of some of the better RPGs. And yes, definitely eager to see what they have for DLC, and whether it faces the same issues with bugs and performance
They need to fix how the athletics skill levels up because it just takes entirely too long and now that they patched out the berserk athletics glitch it’s basically impossible to level that skill
@@anxietyreport9037 Dude the amount of time you’d waste trying to level that skill now would end up equaling your overall play time it’s not even worth it if you ask me
Great video, however I think people will disagree with u on one aspect, when u said rhe endings offer satisfying conclusions.. I enjoyed all the endings and I loved the fact of just how many different endings u can do and how many different variations of each ending can play out, but as far as a satisfying conclusion it doesn’t really have one in any of the endings, every single one of them leave V’s story open ended, there is no actual conclusion in any of the endings except for maybe the one where u give Johnny ur body, but even that one is kinda open ended as well, though it does have a much more final feel than the others
The whole "race to survive" situation clashes with the open world mess around theme. V would be panicking and not to meaningless side jobs. Not a good story arc to choose for a non linear game.
Hey man I just wanted to let you know that with the amount of time and effort you put into these videos that you are destined for something big. You have serious talent and an amazing drive. I just subbed and I truly believe you will hit a milli. Keep up the great work you are definitely going to blow up.
@@anxietyreport9037 thank you for putting out such amazing content, I know it can't be easy to make such long and in depth videos but you definitely have the talent for it. I'm amped for whatever video you put out next and I'll spread the word to all my friends. Best of luck to you and your channel my dude, I'm rooting for you.
Great video and excellent thoughts. I just got around to beating Cyberpunk2077 a week or so ago. Overall, I'd pretty much agree with you about this game. I still very much enjoyed my time playing cyberpunk, and definitely think it is worth getting, but I would say I liked other games more than this one. For example, I think I liked my experience playing prey more than cyberpunk. Very different type of game though.. Next game on my list is Control (not sure if you've played this one?)
Preciate the kind words. I have not played Control...don't know too much about it other than it was made by Remedy (Max Payne, Quantum Break). I might give it a try though if I get some time, I have heard good things about it
*this game would be Perfect if it wasnt open world. they put too much focus on making it like GTA and not enough attention on truly deep character interaction.*
l hope you will review/analyze Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines because l like your style(especially from Dishonored 2 and Alpha Protocol), it is quite informative and assists when someone wants to design a game in the gameplay style and world design.
@AnxietyReport With some games that you have analyzed(Alpha Protocol, Dishonored 2 etc) and some other impressive games(that l can't remember right now).Games that make you feel like every choice matters, give a lot of player agency, even smallest details, (how you speak to someone or where you look at them) and so on. l truly believe, it is possible to combine every good element (from all the games mentioned)into one game, Not a perfect game but a game that incorporates a lot of elements that enhance your experience within the game. It is all theoretical but l hope you got the idea of what l meant. By looking at games you wouldn't expect, someone could make an original idea or enhance an already used idea into something beautiful. For instance,by playing an obscure game, Artificial Academy 2, l did get quite of ideas.Snatcher(game) also and the list can go on and on. Thank you for hard work and keep it up!
@@deadspace4755 I know exactly what you mean. I think about that all the time - that if you combine the elements that make a game fun into one you'd have an excellent game. We should be getting more of those games all the time but instead the market is saturated with garbage. Hope the next generation brings us good games but so far it's not off to a good start
@@anxietyreport9037 Aside from the game's name, it has other meanings. l like names with multiple meanings. Though the choice of picking this name was made without thinking and just kept on having it.
