Yep, pretty much. This hobby has plenty of bizarre situations and scenarios, I used to feel pissed when people supported DLCs, when nitwits gave praise to hack writers like Druckman, Kojima, Nomura, etc... but it is what it is, billions of people experimenting the hobby at the same time in multiple ways, common sense is basically an impossible achievement

Here is the hard truth most gaming media don't get: *Tens of millions of gamers only have one console. Heck, if you count the switch as a handheld, then I'd even say a majority of gamers only have one home console. They have the choice to play a buggy Cyberpunk or not play it at all. This data shows, what choice they made.*

Like nobody heard about the micro bs until battlefront. Like the small refund numbers for cyberpunk too. Internet always amplify things, and people prefer seeing things from themselves and they can refund anyway

I tried to play it seriously this week. But the skills and crafting don’t work as intended and there’s lots of little bugs. So I’m just gonna beat it and uninstall it. It is playable now. But it’s underlying shit is just unfixable. Like it’s not balanced. You can just shotgun straight trough the game. None of the rpg systems are needed or working properly

Honestly, beneath the bugs and lukewarm gameplay, Cyberpunk is a great game. Amazing writing and characters, really cool world, and a great plot with fantastic emotional beats. Damn shame there's not much variety to warrant multiple playthroughs. Woulda loved to do another as V of the oposite gender, but the story doesn't have enough variance, so guess I'll hope they release decent DLC until i try it again.

Having a great narrative doesn't translate to a "great game". People need to realize all medium encompasses of many different factors for it to be great. Simply excelling in one and flunking/average in others is not ideal. It's like God of War 2018. Superb narrative but passable gameplay yet, somehow received many recognition to the point of being referred as "Game of the Generation". Or Demon Slayer with it's excellent visuals and weak narrative. No matter how great episode 19 was, it doesn't justify the 18 ep (around 6 hours) before and 7 ep + movie after of the overall just okay show.

Where lifeless robotic NPCs despawn the moment you look at a different direction 15 yr old title STALKER had a functional life simulation system where each NPCs had a daily life schedule, friendly faction members greet player, react to several environmental phenomenons, crack jokes about each other, play guitar, patrol from areas to areas, travel to distant locations to save comrades from mutants, a functional wildlife simulation system where mutants collide with each other dynamically because none of those events are scripted *that's what I call atmosphere* Cyberpunk had insane story?? No. Not one bit of the rpg systems are necessary or working properly. Half the skills don’t work. The crafting is locked behind end game attribute allocation. The guns are completely unbalanced. You don’t need any cyberware. You don’t need any skills. You only need a shotgun and a bat. Npcs don’t spawn if you explore areas out of order. Npcs talk over each other. 20% of loot you see is unlootable. There are no jet skis. No helicopters. No parachute. You only have motorbike or car. You can spend money on stuff but you don’t need anything but one bike and a shotgun. The game has some cool vibes. But it is a joke.

Nah. I kept pushing through bugs and cringe Keanu acting trying to give it a chance. It was fun mid way through, Peralez and River quests were really good. But it goes down hill again near the end with more glitches, combat becomes completely unbalanced at high levels and story is a disappointment. Overall a 5/10.

I love the cyberpunk genre. The fact that there are not many games that can scratch that particular itch. And the fact that beneath the flaws, is a really good structure, could be the reason people are willing to give CDPR's cyberpunk world another chance.

What structure are you talking about? run of the mill shooting, shallow RPG elements, no real choice? I finished the game on release but the beginning choices have no impact at all and the world is hollow and barren, beyond the bugs is a cool story written by somebody who is not CDPR nothing more nothing less.

@@EleosGames Well, yeah, but who cares? I mean, I never understand why people are like "not enough weapons - 1/10", or "Cant f*ck more than 2 people - 3/10" I DID enjoy the game, as it is. Should choices be truly deep for me to care? Not really. This would be probably impressive, but doesnt change much. Should I be able to spend 10 minutes talking to any person on the street? Again - didnt care. Maybe genre purists are freaking out about it, maybe they need that to have fun. But people mostly dont.

Reviews and overall discussion about some titles should really move forward. Im tired with all those "nut shrinking", "perfect water simulation", "every bird lays a different egg" "masterpieces" that are just plain... boring.

100%ing cyberpunk sounds like absolute torture to me, I played it for 50ish hours on a midrange pc a bit after launch (my mistake). The main storyline and most sidequests are really nice, but the rest is just utter mindnumbing garbage to be honest. I would rather not play anything for 3 months than have the displeasure of doing everything in cyberpunk.

If only Sony had any integrity and fought back against the PS5 scalpers, more people would own the console and devs could actually focus on creating next gen games. Sony really f**ked itself in the a**, they made a quick buck off the scalpers but in the long run people are losing interest in the PS5. That's why Cyberpunk 2077 is selling like it just released yesterday. There is literally nothing else. Everything is being delayed because they gotta make sure it runs on old consoles like PS4 and Xbone.

It’s because under all the bugs cyberpunk has always been a good game. It was never the Witcher 3, but it has a great story and fun gameplay. I’m waiting for the next gen update to jump back in, but I honestly can’t wait to experience more of the cyberpunk world. I don’t care how much hate it gets on the internet, it still has a huge community and hopefully CDPR keeps putting enough work into it that one day it can be recognized the way no mans sky is today.

I had a great time with cyberpunk. I had some bugs but not nearly as bad as some of the bugs i have seen online and the way people talk about it. Idk if maybe this is because i played it on the series X but i really didn't run into anything game breaking what so ever. I was blown away and really sucked into the world they built. It was absolutely gorgeous and I just overall enjoyed the main story. Yes the game should not have been released with some of the bugs i have seen but i also think the main problem is just how hyped up this game was. Edit: Since people keep assuming I only played the game for the graphics i want to make it clear. A GAME DOES NOT NEED GOOD GRAPHICS TO BE GOOD. BUT WHEN A GAME HAS GOOD GRAPHICS IM NOT AFRAID TO GIVE IT A COMPLIMENT.

The main problem was that they stated it's an RPG just like Witcher 3 if not more in depth than Witcher. And it ended up being an Open world action game. You can do more things in GTA 5 and that came out on Ps3? Hell Red dead 2 is more ambitious than Cyberpunk.

I went into it more just curious of the cyberpunk genre because i had not experience anything in that genre yet. If i would have been expecting Witcher quality i would have been more let down. Witcher 3 is a masterclass in RPG.

I've been playing it on One X since release. It's quite a fun game, and stability has improved a lot. A lot of really cool Easter eggs in it, if you're a fan of the cyberpunk genre. It could certainly be better, but it's come a long way since release.

All I can say, I played this game on PC on launch and liked it a lot, and yes, I know it runs poorly on base consoles, but I think the major outcry was a ridiculous. Sure, it doesn't play great on an 8 year old (!) console, but so do a lot of other games. Why would you even want to play a game like that on such old hardware? Right now it apparently runs pretty well on PS4 Pro and especially on PS5. It's a good game and it's sad how everything turned out. But I do hope people will give it another go in the future, because there is a lot to enjoy here.

People are entitled to expect a game advertised for those consoles to at least work. No ones expecting 4k 60fps on a base PS4, but this game had one of the most shambolic launches ever. The game should have been pushed back and released on PC/next-gen only. Sure some people would be pissed about it, but at least it would have had a better launch than what we got, and the game would at least be polished.

@@cheechwizard2798 I agree, especially since they nearly went bankrupt with getting Witcher 2 to Xbox 360. So if that nearly brought them down, then porting it to several different platforms should also be expected to be even tougher. I was fortunate that I only had minor bugs like floating cigarettes, pop-up window that wouldn't close, but I do feel for the people with gamebreaking bugs.

@@zuriyel5368 Yeah I played it on PS5 and it crashed at least once every hour or so, NPCs not spawning or just disappearing, vehicles vanishing, combat glitches, I had one where my mantis blades were stretching across the map, like just one long mantis blade lol. Its just strange how they were willing take such a risk. When devs make an apology video you know they fucked up lol. I was so hyped for the game I pre ordered it, such a shame. The game has a great foundation to build upon, and I will probably try it again with the next gen update. The developers deserve a second chance, and senior management maybe needs a backhand.

Maybe people know how good of a game is + they understand that Cyberpunk 2077 is a demanding game to run on the base PS4 CPU's (If you want to see an unoptimized game just check something like that Microsoft flying game on PC) + they maybe don't fallow the Cyberpunk 2077 ''memes'' and watching every youtuber bashing on the game because they doesn't understand actually how demanding the game is to run + people buy the game now because they are allowed to buy it...not because it's ''fixed''. I like how these youtubers just assume that people are dumb and/or didn't saw enough people bashing the game for 7 months -_-.

I played at launch on the ps4 pro. Past the constant crashes it was playable. Now I am waiting on the ps5 patch.

I have a PS4 pro, and once the most latest patch came out patch 1.23. I went out and bought a used copy from GameStop. It ran fairly well on the PS4 pro. THEN I hooked up and external SSD, a Samsung 860 pro and mounted it and plugged it into the USB 3.0 port in the back. Installed the game there. The game is smooth like butter. Performance is solid fps, no pop in assets, loads fast of course. Just a wonderful experience. Of course there are still bugs, there are two or three missions that have repeated issues that are being worked on. But overall, it is solid. PS4 Pro + SSD NOT THE REGULAR PS4! The regular PS4 has a 1.2 teraflop video card, the PS4 Pro has a 4.1 TFLOPS. your regular PS4 cannot run cyberpunk.

Such a great story, characters are amazing, the music is S Tier… even with the garbage open world and lacking in pretty much every other way. I would still play it just for the story. That never stop fighting line and the endings still F me up. As well both the never fade away version (mainly the band version for me) still makes me shed man tears

Maybe in a world where knights of the old republic, Half life 2, Silent Hill 2, Spec ops the line, Fallout New Vegas, Shadow of the colossus, LOU1, Dragon Age origins, Mass effect trilogy, BioShock, nier automata don't exist Lol some of the moral ideologies, design choices used in creation characters like Mr House, Lanius, Joshua Graham or factions like NCR, Brotherhood of steel, Legion make Voodoo boys, tiger claws or whatever other random faction of cyberpunk look like a joke CD project marketed the hell out of the "branched" Faction system despite the fact cyberpunk doesn't have a basic faction reputation system

The thing is that it is actually a good game. But that’s just it. It is only “good”. A solid 7/10. Playable, fun enough, and then we move on. In the eyes of millions of casual gamers, it will suffice because they don’t truly know what a real rpg with meaningful choices and consequences is. This is where the problem is. Most people don’t actually know what was promised. The game could have been a 9/10 if choices with consequences were put in along with a much more variety of activities to do like they promised. It would’ve been a 10/10 if there weren’t any bugs. That’s the other argument. Yeah the bugs suck but bugs can be overlooked if the game is as deep as an ocean. It ain’t.

I've seen my friend play it with Raytracing on and its just unreal how real everything looks. She even installed a few mods and the game runs buttery smooth and with most of the AI fixed. The game isn't worse than Fallout 76. Hell Fallout 76 is also doing much better now

I’m fairly sure some people just waited for some mark when game gets stable, because frankly, if you skip news focused on drama and controversy, most of the reviews give it credit for good writing and story, as well as decent basic game loop. Game is not second coming of Jesus, but it have its moments and it just might be enough.

I had it from release in xbox one x and yes it was buggy and it did freeze a about once every hour or two but it was still good. The biggest hit for me was all the stuff they never even got to add to the game or finish fleshing out because of the shorter than needed development time. But since they updated it on console the city is dead. I see about 200% less cars and people. I'd rather have the option to up certain things and fine tune it myself. I don't have £1k for a PC before anyone says that.

One of my missions was bugged and during combat would lag bad also I hated how almost everything was locked so got my refund and never looked back. Also the game was till being sold in stores guess people are lazy.

There are a hell of a lot of side missions. They're not all on the map, though. Many of them require you to explore. Like, did you know there's a side mission to unlock a roller-coaster?

I'm only going to be praising Cyberpunk when they fix the four biggest bugs of all: a near total lack of narrative choice throughout the disappointingly short main story and side quests, the fact that CDPR decided two kill off two of the best characters in the game in the first act (T-Bug and Jackie), the incredibly stupid armor/clothing system and lackluster gun loot mechanics, and actual proper interactivity with Night City itself beyond just boring vendor menu screens and two prostitutes.

Dear Laymen Gaming, This video is the perfect example of just how complete fucked the gaming industry and the gaming review industry is. In the current market it is perfectly acceptable to release not fit for purpose products have that product praised then have the same still not entirely fit for purpose product re-released to applause or at the very least praise. It is sad just how low consumer expectations have sunk or just how stupid the current gaming consumer is. It's pretty herp derp me buy weee even if it doesn't work. Gaming reviewers (and I use the term loosely) have no choice to buy/or be gifted and play/review such crap titles as their lively hood depends on it. The gaming review industry is complicit in this stupidity. How long till they release a box or place holder app that doesn't work and have morons willing to buy it till its fixed or in a state that works properly. Yeah that's right its happening right now. I have self implemented a 3 year buffer from games being released till I buy it I usually get the game at 70 to 85% off in sales and usually all the bugs are fixed. I stopped playing multiplayer online games a LONG time ago because of hacking mmo's are a different story. There is a saying "There's a sucker born every minute" I guess the gaming industry knows this and is running with it. Consumers are getting stupider and or expect less and till they expect more this will continue. End of rant. If you got this far thanks for taking the time. Cheers. It doesn’t surprise me that this game topped the stores charts because it had been hyped for years and people want to see what they’re missing. What this video has revealed to me is that I am in a minority of people who love video games so much, I’m willing to spend time engulfed in the drama of the industry- and when you’re sitting this close to the shit-show, you’re going to get burned. Im sure because of people like us, it adds a lot of pressure to the development process. I can’t imagine having someone being as critical of my work as I’ve been to CDPR and the like. That being said, I still stand by this: any company that sells a half-baked product loses credibility with me, especially when falsely promised otherwise. CDPR are riding the coat tails of the Witcher and are lucky they are generally so well received, but I won’t forget this and will think twice before ever buying a product from them again.
