It all started with running across a youtube short of this build. Today I subscribed and watch every video on this build. Now I can’t wait for the next video.
not a fan of the fake batteries. I think something that’s functional would be a better option. A display maybe? But even then not sure if it would look good. Also I think some bbs wheels would also look better imo. Other than that the car is looking good!!!
Those look like a child’s home art project.. the paint is all alligatored too…please please take that crap out. This build is way too good for this. It would look awesome with oled monitor screen under one way glass instead and you could make it whatever you want… from custom battery artwork to active graphics
@@BadaBing0909 that’s not orange peal its alligator. Two different things. It looks straight dog sh*t. And I did compliment the build.. maybe learn to read lil bro.
Those are definitely dope. Nice aesthetic touch to the area without having to make it look too busy. Reminiscent of many a mid engine cad with the engine showing through the panel.
Great work. Couple things I see. I'm gonna ask again, but what is keeping water from collecting there? And two, I would of made those lights a battery status meter.
Better without it I think. Better make is some functional thing... Love the car. Hot rodding is alive and well. Keep it up. Just found your build and love it
If you really want to keep those fake batteries, i think you might be able to get away with repainting them matte black with the Tesla logo white with LEDs and whatnot. The red just makes it seem like a toy.
Hello my friend. I just discovered your channel and it started out very impressive. However, while this project, which started a year ago, was contemporary and visionary, it now seems to be undergoing a cheap transformation. While the taillight design was perfect, the bumper remained like a fake R8. The work you have done is very valuable, but I think the integrated glass ceiling could have been better. Also, Tesla batteries are a good idea, but I think it gives the impression that it's like trying to compare the visionary Tesla to the classic Ferrari. The idea is good, but I think the implementation could be much more successful, you should think about it differently. But your efforts are very valuable and you have spent your precious time for this project. It's a job to be proud of. Congratulations.👏👏👏
Aside from the sharp angles around the fenders this car looks really good. I really like the front bumper and LED strip. If only the fenders had a smoother transition on the sides!
Some other comments seem to agree on this as well. It just looks a little tacky. If it was me, well first off I wouldn’t have done it, but the batteries themselves and the way they look are tacky. Making them look like fake Duracell batteries would have been hilarious 😆
That would be 100x cooler if the lighting inside looked like a violent arch reactor throwing lightning bolts inside each cylinder 🔥 1000x more points if it doubled as a functional pump from a lift kit 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One thing I could recommend when you're spraying paint is never lay the first layer thick. Same thing with primer. It'll prevent streaks, bubbles, and runs. Get a thin coat that you can see through, then wait until the paint is tacky, then do a good, thick second layer. It helps the finish a lot. I love the textured finish you have for this part of the build but say when it comes to painting the car itself, the extra step will pay off.
This is super awesome and all, but what's really at the forefront of my mind is the question of why you look like Pedro Pascal and Michael Schumacher managed to conceive a baby together.
Might want to figure out a way to get water to drain, Think the back of that car, just might become a swimming pool, if you don't and ever bring it into the raid and try to treat it like a daily driver. Love how it looks! Can't wait to see it all complete, Subbed so I get to see the finished project!
I think it’s a decent idea because like what else is there to put there right? But I think it was poor execution. All this elaborate work and you want plastic tubes? I would’ve gone for aluminum for a way better “feel”. I say feel as I’m sure not many people would notice the difference it would just be one of the small things that you know about and (maybe) feel better about. And then you can also get it powder coated and have everything look way more premium. Not to mention who knows how that paint on the plastic will hold up in the long run with how much sun exposure that location of the car will receive. I also think that if you did WHITE led lighting for the Tesla logo cutouts and give them more of a purpose by making them react with your different headlight modes, flashing/pulsing when you lock/unlock the car, flashing red with the panic button/alarm, etc. All of that with the addition of 2 speaker or subwoofers being mounted inside and have cutouts in your housing for them to face into the cab of the car would look very nice from the interior and also elevate the function of it all. Over all it’s your car and your project and if it makes you happy then great, but in my opinion (and apparently many others) this is not it…BUT if you used this as a “rough draft” so to speak then I believe you could really build and expand on this idea
it looks cool buttt, my suggestion is that the paintwork should probably be cleaner because tesla cars if you notice are very minimalistic and the paintworks are very clean and shiny i suggest that instead of it having textured paint it should instead have clean and smooth and glossy paintwork, kinda like the sticker (if you want to keep it since there are a lot of negative reviews on that ) btw i think its better if you use white light instead of red instead the red one is pretty unnoticeable, and i think it would've looked better if the letters are vertical, and what if it actually has batteries but for the cosmetic lights and stuff that you are probably gonna add in the future? btw if you want to paint on plastic you should sand it first so that the paint stays longer.
Personally I like it, I see a lot of people hating on it but I still think it’s cool. You will only be able to see the beauty it adds after he paints the car.
I understand what everyone is saying but honestly, it’s your car so you could do whatever you want with. I would say just to add something more practical then just stylist maybe actual batteries or space to store things.
Hey, just watched majority of the roadster content on these past days. Let me tell you, excellent work! One of one ! You've made a esthetic that is super enjoyable. Got to this episode, where you got the idea of these tubes. Wonderfull to see how you surpass things in your way and how you so creative as well. The way you texturize it and how it turned out was cool. But for me they dont fit the car, they take away all the past esthetic you've created for the roadster. Another think that bothers me in them is the way you read the "Tesla" , facing frontwards to the car it is confusing for the simpliest rules of reading from left to right. Sorry for the big comment, but I think this is a project so amazing that all inputs will be good for it !
Incredible. Looks cool. Next, design an actual battery pack, that actually adds performance or range there. That is the way. Build it better. This is neat though, cool at cars and coffie.
Maybe swap out those single color leds to a rgb led with a pcb board that goes from red-green and then incorporate battery percentage (red=charge green=full battery)
dunno why a lot of people think that those batteries are looking bad, IMHO they look cool except that maybe the red LEDs with red tubes don't come together. maybe white or blue ones will do a better job
A sort of carbon carbon cover with two symmetrical bumps would look amazing in that place. You can make the form and then have it custom made in carbon fibre. Maybe you want it to be 100% own work but I think that would be the best solution. The car in general should have some carbon parts/details though imo
I like the battery tube look but it would have been better to light them up with white lights not red. When you used the flashlight it made the logo pop but with the red lights you could barely see the TESLA logo.
I think those tubes look awesome. Non creative people that do not like them are the type that probably likes their vehicles mostly stock. I'm guessing that these little touches are what really makes this build fun for you. Making another set that look like copper top Duracell would also be cool. Keep up the creative build. LOVE IT.
Not a fan of those weird LEDs. Its a neat idea to style it up but i think there should be something functional there. Like maybe if you fit airride to this beast you could put the compressors and tanks there, or maybe you could have relocated the charging electronics there or something like that. Otherwise nice work on the car
You know what would be sweet? If those two cylinders were able to have a lighting effect that portrays some type of ‘energy’ wave travelling through them. Imagine something like the Aurora Borealis (able to change colour of course) or like a plasma wave.
Corniest thing I've ever seen. Went from a badass car to something I'd be embarrassed of...... This is something a 17 year old would do to a 92' Accord
Slot or notch the tubes sonyou have a repeater location when fitting and black pixel out edge the perspex underneath like they do on real glass so you do t get any heat warping in the sun. Looks proper then toi
Maybe eventually we'll have electric cars powered by swappable batteries like that, just take out the dead one and swap it at a charge station for a full one.
