www.pandapodiu... - Lots of brands make lightweight components, but many can't stand up to the demands of racing. CYBREI is one brand that develops and tests their products at the UCI conti level.
In this video I give you a bit of back-story on the brand and introduce you to some of their more popular products.

I messed up the maths! The weight for crankarms + alloy spider + chainrings is *491g* . I've updated the thumbnail. That makes it 189 lighter than Dura Ace, not 200. Black Friday has my brain fried. Will take a good rest to avoid such mistakes.
@hockysa

isn't total weight 514 grams? 320g cranks + 40g spider + 154g chainrings?

The chainring from the box looked Shimano compatible with the upper right tab, but all the complete bikes you showed have non shimano spiders, which is it?

this is how you convince audience to buy a product, very well informative, detailing the background of Cybrei gave me a clear picture that this is not just a chinese backyard knock-off products. I'm diving in to buying Cybrei crankarms. Goodbye Shimano...
@ThomasHubik
@ThomasHubik 10 месяцев назад
320+150=470g already, without the spider and bolts and i counted downwards. If we add those it will be closer to the DA. I'm not saying it is bad, but the numbers here rnt correct. I have looked on it, a spider, easton, is around 55-60g+bolts. Easton spider +50/34 easton chainrings are around 230g. So it is more around 510-540 in the end, and thats already very good, but better to tell the correct numbers.
@engnelsito
@engnelsito 10 месяцев назад
I thought exactly the same: the number don't add up as you will always require a spider and bolts. Realistically, after adding the sider and bolts you will be on the 510-540g for the non-power version, which is still good though since my compact SRAM RED is 560g with chainrings, but still way heavier than a THM, hence the THM premium price. Considering the price for the Cybrei and how much you can currently find SRAM RED cranksets, I am not really interested as I'd rather save the money and go with a more established brand than save those 20g.
@ChinaCycling
@ChinaCycling 10 месяцев назад
Whoops! I dropped the ball on this, I'll make a pinned comment. I was using my sub 6 for 6 build video as a reference, but the chainrings in that one are 20 lighter than the official listed weight. Oops! The correct weight should be 491g according to my math.

Well yea. I mean, the average life of a YT creator is about 5-7 years. At some point, he has to pivot to a different business. Since Joe has contacts with the Chinese brands (especially since he worked at Winspace), it would make sense for him to gradually wind down his China Cycling YT channel, and use it as a promotional tool. I wouldn't be surprised if he merges his channel with the Panda Podium channel. Also, there are creators who do the whole China cycling review thing better than Joe, specifically TraceVelo.

Sram red crankarms older version cost around 300$ (weight same 320g) and newer version around 400$ (300g) which pro teams ride, you have warranty and etc etc, and this crank arms cost 419$ on official page and also you need to pay a lot of taxes to Europe. Can you tell me why I should buy this unknown brand without warranty for more money even if its actually good quality item (which still needs to be tested by time)? I mean if this crank arm could cost something like 200$ then yes. Anyway, I think it is too expensive, even if its good quality product.

@@invisiblescout6335 tell me you know nothing about tolerances without telling me you know nothing about tolerances. Pressfit cups are aligned either through frame or single-piece sleeve. Have you seen the Lexon carbon cranks? Look like they come from the same factory with a slight cosmetic alteration. Have the same small parts and everything. They quote the exact same tests as well. Not that I trust Lexon/Ryet all that much.

I'd not seen them, but I just went and had a look. The "dent" in the crankarm on the lexon is interesting. Also, they don't seem to have 165mm or below, so I'm guessing pretty different, but the weight to price looks amazing.

Not sure Dura-Ace is a valid benchmark here, being mostly aluminium and featuring carbon only as part of one chainring. Now, being only 20g heavier than THM - that is impressive, although Clavicula being 5-bolt. But the real competitor is Rotor Aldhu here.
@invisiblescout6335

@@invisiblescout6335it's the powermeter option that costs more. Without it we talk similar 700 Euros. Just like Cybrei or Rotor. But Cybrei doesn't even mention a powermeter anywhere. We can only assume spider-based from Rotor or Quarq will fit. But then, why not getting Rotor as a whole package?

Depends which SRAM red crankset you have now. The chainrings on some red cranks are built into the spider / power meter, so you can't take them off to put them on this. Some companies make SRAM AXS chainrings that can fit onto Shimano BCD, which would be an option. But if you already have SRAM Red, you're already very light.
