CYCLING CHINA!
Ep 32: Aaaaand we're cycling in China again! A few years back we cycled the Guanxi Province but this trip took us to Fujian Province. Had heard it was green and beautiful and after we passed through some industrial bits, it was true! Bike touring in China is always an adventure we're down for and it definitely didn't disappoint. In part one of cycle touring china we head to the countryside and towards the Tulous (traditional mud houses) I've been itching to see for years.

++Wait, what's RaD?: Ryan And Darin (that's us! yes...we both have boy names...is that weird?). Get it? ...r And d...RAD.
++The Adventure: riding our bikes around a bunch of different places in this world for a year. Seeing new sights, trying new foods, meeting lots of new people, visiting old friends and generally having a swell ol' time challenging ourselves to EXPLORE MORE(!) from the saddle of a bicycle. Yay!

Greetings from China.Awesome video,after being encouraged by your great experience,I actually made up my mind to begin a riding adventure from Shenzhen to a village in Guangzhou that located at a hill over 700 meters high ,kind of mixture of riding and hiking,hahah...Thank you for sharing these videos and good luck to your following adventure!

That's awesome Yu! Hopefully you can find the smaller, countryside roads that are nicer to ride on bicycle. What village did you go to? Sounds nice!

@@radbikeadventure BTW,this village is definitely perfect point for camping particularly after one day's riding ,lay down and see the beautiful sky.it should be lots of fun.

Looks amazing! Just looked it up, highest mountain point in Guangzhou. It's called Apo Six Village. Will have to check this out in the future. Thanks again! : D

You videos are getting better all the time. I'm looking forward for RAD bike adventures in China. I haven't visited China for 10 years now, and it seems that a lot of things have changed. I'd like to go bicycle touring to China in near future myself. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

Thanks Marko! Yes, China is changing at a rapid pace, but if you head to the countryside, things still feel very much the same. Fujian, Guangxi, Yunan, and Sichuan are all great provinces to cycle. Have heart Hainan island is nice too. Happy to be able to share it : D

Hey my cheerful cycling friends =) Today my RU-vid jus recommended this video….. I jus pass 5 mins of it and already I’m having so much fun that I gotta paused to comment….hehe =) I jus love you guys vibes…. it’s what I called, the “lost adventure”. No problem, wrong direction or wrong boat…. it jus a diversion to a fun exploring rides. Yes, the local not only stare at white folks, they stared at me too!!….I’m brown like them. And if you guys coming by Thailand one of this day, don’t forget to hook me up. I sure love to enjoy those crazy rad company of you guys =)

You gals are always so positive, taking everything in your strides. Pollution and traffic in China may be a bit crazy but those didn't seem to dampen your spirits. Haha.... the chicken feet! My mom would sometimes cook them. too. But frankly, not my favourite. And I am Chinese. A Chinese Malaysian though.

I've read somewhere that in some Asian cultures it is considered impolite to not give an answer to a question, so people will tell you anything even if they have no idea, and this also applies to giving directions.

Could be true! Though knowing the language a bit helps A LOT so I was able to have a couple people flat out tell me...no, this is the wrong way! Also, some people might pretend to know english just answering yes to anything. Gotta be careful there

Thanks for the long vlog, the longer the better. China is a large country, how long do you both intend to cycle there? I am amazed that China is not very accommodating to foreigners, surely this can only be bad for tourism.

Thanks Mike! Yea, China is even hard for Chinese to travel as they have to "register" in new cities. Besides the Zhangzhou, we had no trouble and people were VERY kind and welcoming towards us, especially in the countryside. If I've learned anything about China it's that it is a place full of contrasts.

I thought the cities in Taiwan were bad enough with traffic congestion and pollution, endless skyscrapers, shops and scooters. It made me ill and depressed longing for Europe. I don't think I'd like China, one big dirty polluted megalopolis. Depressing. Not for me. I prefer wilderness to concrete jingles. But thanks for making and posting.

Developing countries have their fare share of pollution yes, but outside of the cities, China is an absolutely magical place. It is most definitely NOT one big polluted megalopolis. China is a massive and diverse place. If you want adventure, history, culture...head to the countryside...it is a China that might surprise you. Especially the south and north west.

@@radbikeadventure I guess but to get to what remains of rural China you have to endure ridi g through hundreds if not thousands of all the same huge polluting cities with heavy traffic and that isn't even including large industrial towns as big as cities. No not for me. As I say riding through industrialised and urban Taiwan was enough for me and Taiwan is supposed to be a lot better than China. I wouldn't ride anywhere like India it would be soul destroying seeing the rubbish squalor poverty and pollution. Not for me. Sorry. Thanks for replying.

Alex Morgan trains are great for getting trough that. We went off the main roads in Taiwan which made a huge difference. Mountains were stunning. But ya...if it ain’t for you, then many other great places to cycle in the world!

@@radbikeadventure I prefer to ride rather than take trains. Hardcore. Although I flew to Taiwan. Fortunately there are still one or two great places still left in the world to ride a bike like Tasmania, the Andes in South America, the Picos d'Europa in Spain or Wales UK. Keep on pedalling and filming. Safe cycling. Thank you.

Alex Morgan Lucky for me my first trip was Wales and the latest Tasmania! (Videos on the latter coming soon). Absolutely incredible wild. Loved it. Would definitely like to get to S. America
