In February 2018, me and my mate Phil cycled around the Wirral Circular Trail in Cheshire.
It was a total distance of 45 miles, starting and finishing at Parkgate, and cycling in an anticlockwise direction.
Firstly, we headed east towards the Mersey estuary and then followed the river north through Birkenhead to New Brighton. After New Brighton it was an interesting route along the north coast to West Kirby, where we overlooked the Dee estuary. Then it was south through the Wirral Country Park and back to Parkgate.
The surfaces were variable from compacted trails and sand covered cycle paths, with a proportion of concrete pavements and tarmac roads in the built up areas.
I'm not sure what species of bat we saw, but it was big one.
I found this video in the archives of my computer. It was made prior to me setting up my channel, but I thought I would upload it to give viewers an idea of what the Wirral Circular Trail is like.
I hope you enjoy it.
