I am a cyclist and I abide by the same rules of the road as when I'm driving my car. These muppets, who believe the rules somehow do not apply to them, should be banned from the road. They give the considerate cyclist a bad name. FOOLS. 🤔
Such a nice change to hear a considerate cyclist condemning these people too many cyclists stand up for others no matter what they do if a drunk cyclist smashes into a baby carriage on the pavement 90% of cyclists will insist it was the baby's fault and hail the cyclist as a hero
BrumCraft same.....and these lot look sm like sheep, like I'm quite sure the ones at the back only went coz the person infront went and they didn't wanna b left behind.
BrumCraft: I've seen car drivers 'stopping' at pedestrian crossings, wait until the pedestrian/s are halfway over, then drive by, just skimming their legs....So dangerous to do this. Drivers should wait until the crossing is completely clear and not just their side.
Not just that they don't stop when people are on the crossing but they also freely overtake and undertake other stationary traffic on the crossings zig zag lines which is a separate highway code serious offence. Its time that all pedal cycles be requird to be fitted with a registration plate and hold at a minimum third party insurance. Additionally cyclist must be required to hold some form of licence that points, fines and disqualifications can be placed against. A fine, points or licence disqualification in the post is the only effective way to instill in them some much needed road responsibility to other users and stop this madness.
When my Wife was 8 months Pregnant we were walking half way over a crossing when a Cyclist rode across like those Muppets. I knocked him off his bike onto his arse.
@@IanLanc what's you point, all he has to do is a little push with the shoulder. You don't need to become "Chuck Norris" on him and punch him, just continue to walk and ram him. Cyclist 100% in the wrong... who cares if there's a camera you can even walk faster to be sure to ram him. All he has to say is that he tried to come between the cyclist and his pregnant wife to protect her.
To be fair the cyclists that didn’t stop were using hired Santander bikes for tourists who don’t need to learn uk cycling proficiency and road laws. Simply down load the app and off you go. Resident cyclists have their own bicycles.
@@bicyclecambelfast5680 I dont understand your comment? You walk down the road and tread in dog shit, "bloody dogs" you cry....... But not every dog shits on the pavement. What are you getting at? A van driver cuts you up "bloody van drivers" you cry........ Do all van drivers cut you up?
Cyclist really do have a bad name for some reason they think everyone should give way to them. And I personally have cycled for hundreds of of miles with total respect for other road users
@Logia SD If a motorist breaks the law , they can be traced by their registration and fined , banned from the road, or made to redo their test. A cyclist can literally go straight back on the road after being fined - they cannot complain that motorists and pedestrians break the highway code and should be punished when these cyclists have had no training , have not been required to meet a required standard of hazard perception and have never had to study the highway code. It is time for cyclists to have registrations , insurance ,and have passed a test showing competence in hazard perception and knowledge of the highway code.
Where did they learn in The Highway Code that even if you are on a bicycle you can go across a zebra crossing when there is pedestrians Crossing it is what I would like to know
@Pers Unn likewise, I used to cycle too but always adhered to the highway code and ride courteously. As a driver I now do the same. However, I do agree that there are many drivers who do not.
Those cyclists are probably the same people who frighten the life out of all other road users when they take their own cars on the road. It's not about drivers or cyclists, it is about ignorant, incompetent road abusers who are not fit to be on 2 or 4 wheels.
@@flipper2392 the same law *does* apply. Just because beating wives & kids was once legal, doesn't mean that law was just or logical. We put different rule on trucks because they weigh 5-10x more than cars, but expect people on 25lb bicycles to follow all the same rules as 2 ton death machines? Fuckin idiotic

I agree. They're the first one, to cry victim, when someone pushes back. They ride like idiots, then want to fight, when someone confronts them. Contrary to popular belief, you can't ride in the middle of the lane, if you can't keep up with the flow of traffic. Also, you need to ride single file. You can't ride 2, 3, or 4 across, then get upset, when drivers race by you.
G' Pop - if I carried that attitude to my cycling then I would deliberately hold you up because other drivers dangerously close pass me withot leaving a couple of metres' space. How would you like to be punished for the misdeeds of others who you are lumped together with as some kind of singular entity? Having said that, based on your comment you sound like you probably are one of the pricks that actually does close pass cyclists.
@@Normal1855 compare that to the number of cager cunts who passed me on the road yesterday without giving the legally required 3 feet, all of which actually endangered my safety. Cager concerns are a joke.

The whole traffic had stopped to let me cross the zebra n this twat thought he shouldn't hav to n missed me by a inch. He then stared at me as he carried on LIKE I'D DONE SOMETHING WRONG!!! I flipped my shit. I no violent guy but I did offer him to ruck right there n then. He jus shook his head like a gimp as he cycled off. That was 11 yrs ago n still gets me sik to this day!!!
I've had the same experience. There was traffic along a road in Holborn, and the traffic lights changed to allow the pedestrians to cross. Green man shows, as I walk along the crossing, a cyclist speeds full pelt inches past me. I was enraged. Had he hit me, I'd have been badly injured for sure, would've affected my life a lot. All because he was an impatient, self entitled prick who doesn't give a crap about anyone else but himself. And after many years of being up in London, I can absolutely say that cyclists fall under that category FAR more than motorists. I have never come close to being hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing, but it happened regularly with cyclists.
Stupid road users are the worst. I was once nearly hit by a delivery van that was stationary, on his phone, and then decided to drive as I was crossing the road. I had to swerve out of the way to not get hit. Adrenaline pumping, I started gesturing to him to use his eyes and I cycled on, but then he got mad that I was mad, followed me, stopped in front of me, got out and started to threaten violence. There’s selfish pricks everywhere, on all modes of transport. Honestly, I prefer them on bikes because they’re at least a lot less deadly that way.
Cyclists are the scourge of the road. They flout the rules of the road when it suits them and then have the audacity to yell and scream at others who do the same to them. One set of rules for them and another for everyone else. Pedestrians trying to cross at the zebra crossing should push them over if they try and ride through without stopping. I would pay good money to watch that happen.
Says the worthless cunt who fires up a 4000lb steel cage and endangers lives everytime you need to get your fat ass to the corner store. Fuckin pathetic cager.
Most people are just convinced that they're more important than everyone else,in a hurry to get somewhere to sit and eat or sit and watch television. @@brianhurley3343 Exactly - couldn't agree more- its time cycling is brought in line with other road users. Show they are competent by passing a test, have their cycles tested for compliance for road use regularly, have compulsory insurance , show a registration , wear appropriate safety equipment to reduce injury ( and save tax payer money). Then they would be more responsible- or pay heavy fines if they ignore the rules .
@@winnie6354 when I was growing up we used to, the school I went to in Sholing, didn't insist but indicated that if pupils wanted to cycle to school then they should have passed a cycling proficiency course.
For a sociopath like myself, these are just perfect opportunities to pick a fight with someone (while actually being in the right!😁). Next time, as a pedestrian, try to just push through without caring if the cyclists fall or whatever.
That's how I see it too. Knock one of the cunts off their bike (I could make that look like an accident I think) then see if they want to have a fist fight about it. I certainly do.
my kinda guy, like the thinking and to the guy who commented on it does not make u harder dont ride through the crossing when iam on it, violence solves everythjng
I drove round central in a heavy goods vehicle for six years. I found that most cyclists were fine, stayed within the rules. There were a few that waived in and out of traffic, not giving a toss about anything or anyone except themselves, and ignored pedestrians, even those on zebra crossings. But there were also bad motorists, many of whom appeared to hate any cyclist, regarding of whether or not they were adhering to the law. For every bad cyclist, there is at least one bad motorist.
Exactly. I cycle and 99% of motorists are fine, but every so often someone flies past really close and not slowing down at all. Each time it happens I swear I’m going to get cameras and start a RU-vid channel.
@@bryanberesford7521 do you feel in danger stuck in your car eating your donuts when a cyclist goes past you closely? No. Go back to school and retake physics 😂😂
Nuruj, most cyclists also drive cars which is why they become self opinionated self righteous pigs. It also means that they have licences just like you do. And probably drive the way you do also.
Nobody in GB has a licence specifically to ride a bike. With the spread of dedicated cycle facilities, and the increasing popularity of cycling in towns, it may be time to introduce one.
In the Netherlands there is a bicycle training for primary school children (aged 11). It is a test whether they know the rules of conduct in traffic. The kids do not have to show they can cycle, they are doing it for 5 or 6 years already. It is just about interacting with other road users... Watch this video: Bicycle training in the Netherlands. Made by BicycleDutch.
This reminds me of when Top Gear made adverts for cyclist's safety. One of their ads featured someone diffusing a bomb, not knowing which wire to cut. It ended with an explosion and the strapline "Cyclists: Red and green - learn the bloody difference.", the inference being that cyclists disregard traffic regulations. This clip proves this to be true
Then they get enraged if a car cuts them up! I lived and worked in Manchester for years and cyclists behaved as though they owned the roads and the pavements. One moment they're on the road, then the next they're hurtling down the pavement to avoid red lights, while putting the safety of pedestrians at risk. Then they wonder why drivers get infuriated with them.
I find it amusing within the ranks of people who use 2 wheeled propelled vehicles with pedals , there is a sub set the others look down on,( let's see if I get this the right way round - as it's all the same to me) cyclists are the elite, whilst bikers/ bicyclists are the riff raff. 😊
More anecdotal made up BS. The vast majority of cyclists obey the rules. Look up this article "Science Proves Motorists Break Traffic Laws a LOT More Often Than Cyclists". You car drivers break the law far more than cyclists.
@@SlinkShadyAnd let’s not forget significantly more pedestrians get injured or killed by cars than bikes. 1 in 60 car-pedestrian collisions result in a dead pedestrian, compared to 1 in 217 for bike-pedestrian collisions. That’s the numbers reported by the UK government. In the Netherlands, where bicycles are everywhere (and often also behaving badly), 51% of all pedestrian injuries are caused by cars, 42% are one-sided accidents such as a fall (mainly happens to elderly), and the other 7% are caused by all other vehicles, including bicycles, lorries and busses.

Cyclists should have a registration number that's clearly readable and a certificate of insurance. Then jumping red lights , failing to stop at a pedestrian crossing etc should result in a fine that's applicable to the offence.
Cyclists should be made accountable for their unlawful actions! They should have visible identification, road tax and public liability insurance! No cycle should be allowed to be sold without lights, and for running red lights or ignoring pedestrian crossings the penalty should be the same as for a motorist!
My Dad told me a story about a guy on a high end racing bike careering towards him while he was on a crossing. His front wheel clipped my Dad's heel and folded in half, sending the guy flying over his handlebars.
I live in The USA, cyclists here do the same thing. We even have dedicated bike lanes but they are in the middle of the road taking their leisurely ride to wherever instead. We have a local road that was taken from four lanes to two so cyclists have a lane and it is rarely used.
Cyclists seem to forget that they are road-users, not pedestrians. Earlier today (which is probably why this vid appeared in my recommendations), l was watching headcam footage from a British cyclist who was cut up at a junction by a VW van. He attempted to catch up but the van had to perform a three-point turn as the road was closed. Okay, haha, instant karma, and all that. The cyclist then abandoned the moral high ground by completely ignoring the "Road Closed" signs and cycling down the road...
This term 'cyclist' is problematic, it categories me in with muppets like her. She's no more a cyclist than I am a mountaineer when I put on my boots bought in Mountain Warehouse. She's a pedestrian on a Boris Bike. She's a human commuting on a bike. She's not a 'cyclist'. A cyclist has the hobby of cycling and does so in their leisure time. She's no cyclist, she's a hire bike user. Don't associate me with her actions because I like 99% of cyclists would not act like this.
These people are using bicycles as an efficient form of urban transport. This is the future of cycling. The roads are no longer a place for people to indulge their hobbies. Get out of the way with your tour-de-headcase mentality; there are cyclists coming!
Derek ok and the “cyclists” you describe are the type that seem to think it’s ok to cycle in packs on country lanes having a good old chin-wag. and 2 abreast on urban roads completely blocking the flow of traffic
Do one - what's easier to overtake: two cyclists spanning the distance of two bikes plus gap between them or one bike, albeit twice as wide? You've still got to move into the other lane so it's far easier to overtake if the obstruction is only half as long.
@@cccenturion4480. Ignored by whom and how. Cyclists are not obliged to stop at a Zebra crossing, they are however, required to give priority to pedestrians using it

As a cyclists I don’t respect angry/rude pedestrians or angry /rude car drivers. I only respect buses, trams and trains. I stand with the bad bus drivers
If one got close to you on the crossing to the point where they may hit you then you are well in your rights to push them away and probably off their bike
Such a shame! And I’m not preaching to my own choir, as I’m a frequent cyclist myself - but I’m also a pedestrian like every one of us and quite simply a human being with a civic conscience.
@Holdsworth Mistral register them, the same as cars. Easily done and workable in to current systems already in use. Make it the cyclists responsibility to register, stiff fines if you dont.
That's not called for; the registration fee goes to road maintenance, and bicycles wear the roadbed nearly nothing compared to the way a car ot truck wears it. Third party insurance? Really? You really think a bicyclist is likely to bang up a passenger or cause considerable property damage? A person on a bike isn't even likely to break the skin on a pedestrian. Bicyclists are, therefore, rightly self-insured.
@@timhofstetter5654 - Bike riders use the road and if it was not there the bike riders and car drivers would not have a stable surface to ride on. They are the 1st and 2nd parties directly involved in an accident (eg) the car or the bike hit or visa versa.
This is because a lot of cyclists are utterly ignorant and arrogant and don't believe any road rules apply to them, this attitude is coupled to a complete lack of legal enforcement by the police.

The roads they are cycling on look absolutely horrible and unsafe. Can't blame them for cycling on the pavement. I would feel incredibly unsafe cycling in the UK (or most other countries)
Fine examples of 99.9% of cyclists, In my opinion they should all be forced to have insurance and made to wear a high vis vest with an ID number so we can report them for all the times they ignore the rules of the road and put others in danger.
@Holdsworth MistralThis video I about cyclists ignoring zebra crossings, nothing to do with motorists. I drive for a living and see far more cyclists ignoring the rules of the road than motorists, and I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of the cyclists killed caused the accident that killed them.
Me too. I don't know why pedestrians put up with that crap. I've nearly leapt onto the bonnet of a speeding BMW before now - and the look I gave them hopefully haunted them at night.
Motorists have to allow 1.5 metres of distance between his vehicle and a cyclist when passing the said cyclist. Apparently this rule doesn't apply to cyclists when passing motor vehicles.
Best thing is to always carry an umbrella, It could rain you know. Just walking along, swinging arms back and forth like everyone does. "Oops, sorry there mate, the umbrella went into the front wheel." Usually ends up in a busted umbrella but also busted spokes. It's funny as to see them having to carry the bike off.
Cyclists: demands the same rights and respect as other motor vehicles. Also cyclists: run red lights and filter pedestrians through crosswalks. Yeah, nah mate get off the road ya muppets.
@@pipellis6672 Ignore the highway code and aim for a pedestrian who has right of way on a crossing and youll have to suffer any consequences. Tough shit
What everyone seems to be doing is treating cyclists and car drivers as two opposing categories. “Cyclists don’t know the Highway Code” etc. The days of people relying on a bicycle as sole means of a transport are pretty well over. Most people who ride bicycles are also car drivers, as am I. I’ve been riding/driving bicycles for over 60 years, motorcycles for 54 years, and cars for 51 years, and I’ve seen plenty of idiots (including myself on occasion) operating all three modes of transport. A cyclist is certainly capable of seriously injuring or killing a pedestrian if they collide with them. In 2015, two pedestrians in the UK were killed and 96 seriously injured after being hit by a bicycle. By the same token, cyclists have been killed by pedestrians negligently stepping out in front of them. The majority of cyclist deaths and injuries were caused by car drivers, and cyclists were far more likely to be the victims rather than the cause of incidents. As for Third Party insurance, many (if not all) household contents policies provide cover while the policyholder is cycling. If the idiots cycling in this video drive a vehicle with the same selfish disregard for the Highway Code and for other road users and pedestrians, then I, for one, would far rather that they stayed on a bicycle, where they’re far more likely to damage themselves, than to get behind the wheel of 1/1/2 tons of car.
The annoying thing is that everyone else thought they only had to wait for the pedestrians to cross, but now they have to wait for the pedestrians waiting for the knob head cyclists first.
Cyclist rules the rules no matter where you are at espically in the UK yielding to pedestrian in a crosswalk if you hit a pedestrian you can be charged for assault and battery. u name it.
Not being rude but 20 years ago everyone in England would stop at a crossing but now we have other customs here so No one queues, People ride on the pavement, most delivery cycles go through red lights and no cycling signs in parks mean nothing. Customs from other countries are well and truly here. Thanks
I tell U what there would have been some big trouble if that was me crossing, especially with my kids, it would have been war the Police would have to be called. There's one thing I hate is vehicles not stopping at ped. crossing when peds are on it, either car or bike :(
Well you would enjoy your time in court I hope. You do not have the right to assault someone just because they cycle past you on a Zebra Crossing - and I do think she should be fined a large amount of money for it.
Chris Brown I disagree I think he comes across as quite rational. Not stopping at a crossing is no excuse for assaulting someone. They need to be punished but that isn't the way to do it.
I will only have respect for cyclists when they stop running red lights, banging on my car roof, weaving in and out of traffic, running through zebra crossings when there are people crossing, riding on the paths when it suits them, going the wrong way up one way streets. I had my arm broken on a zebra crossing by a cyclist who gave me or anyone else on that crossing no respect or thought whatsoever. You cyclists who do this should be band you're all a pain in the arse. For those other cyclists who do have respect and follow the rules this message is not meant for you.
Cyclist should walk and/or catch public transport in peak hours. Riding bikes on busy narrow streets is ridiculous. Riders who do not wear a helmet lack common sense and they lack discipline so wear a bike helmet.
I would say that from my experience of driving for 41 years, on motorcycles, in cars and in around 6 different countries, we here in the UK have, what appears to be, some of the most arrogant cyclists, not all cyclists, but just enough of a minority to get every cyclists the label arrogant t@s. What happens in this video is quite common place in London and cities with large numbers of cyclists.
Failing to stop for pedestrians on a crossing is a serious offence, so is overtaking a vehicle within the approaches to a crossing. Where are the Police? Anyone contravening this rule needs to be reported for prosecution. Cyclists are very lax in attitude to some road traffic rules and they need to be punished. I am a cyclist, but hold no council whatever for these offenders. There are far too many cyclists offending and the police need urgently to get to grips.
It is about time that cyclists need to pass a test to show they understand and will follow the Highway Code, otherwise penalty points on their driving licence or fines.
Hahaha yes let's arrest people who pedal a bicycle without government permission. Maybe require a permit to run fast as well? Enjoy your shithole governemt, dork
Why is it that Cyclists own everything. They seem to own the Cycle Lanes, the Pavements Both sides of the road, Pedestrian crossings and Bus lanes. So where is everyone else supposed to go.?? Nothing applies to these people. They can ignore Pedestrians, Keeping the distance between themselves and other vehicles when overtaking. They can ignore other peoples right of way and Traffic lights. They don’t seem to know anything about the Highway code as the Law requires. Time now for number plates and Insurance maybe a test even on these lethal devices, because Cyclists hide behind anonymity.
DrMorocho Ignorance of the law ( no matter what country you are in ) is no excuse, if i go to Spain, Canaries or anywhere in Europe I am expected to know the law for instance the different colours of crossings on the roads.
A lot of pedestrians do not know that a driver or cyclist does NOT have to stop to allow a pedestrian to cross. They must stop ONLY if a pedestrian is already on the crossing.
I believe the ULEZ principle can be extended to cyclists. No racing cycles zones in city centres and anywhere where pedestrians are forced to share space with cyclists
These people are the prime example of the sole reason why people who use bicycles for transportation on a daily basis are in constant threat when on the saddle.
A pedestrian on a zebra crossing has right of way until he/she reaches the pavement. Wait until then before even proceeding along the road. A pedestrian has the right to turn around on the crossing and return to the side he/she started from.
My biggest gripe about cyclists on the roads is that when it suits them, they insist on being treated as equal to motorised vehicles, but when it doesn't - pedestrian crossings, red traffic lights etc. - they break the rules without batting an eyelid. They do things that would cost them their driving license if they were in a car, then they whine like 3-year-olds when a motorist does something ever so slightly incorrect
