This episode of ‪@nextleveloz‬ we camp the Zone and the Defender at Cygnet Bay and explore the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, that produces some of the world's most valuable cultured pearls.
We also enjoy a cultural experience with a local traditional owner visiting the remote Sunday Island, traditional country for the Bardi Jawi people and former mission, hearing the history, listening to tradititional stories and experiencing the whirlpools, currents and eddies of the massive local tides.
We drive toward Derby and free camp, coming face to face with a massive Brahman Bull, before heading to the Gibb River Road where we are confronted with unseasonal flood warnings, so we start the trek early to try to beat the rain to Tunnel Creek.
Welcome to Episode 29 of our Big Lap Gap Year. We're David and Paula @NextLevelOZ. Like many of you, we've worked hard for 40 years, but we are too young to retire. So we're taking a gap year from work, we've bought our first ever caravan and are doing a Big Lap around Australia taking in the iconic destinations of our fabulous country.
This channel is for fun and to share our trip of a lifetime and 100% of any ad revenue earned goes to charity.
We'd love your comments, questions and tips. We hope you will like and subscribe and we look forward to sharing our journey around this magnificent country.

Thanks for watching. It’s a lovely place. While it doesn’t seem the most exotic location on our lap, it’s at Cape Leveque, there’s some interesting tours and it’s a neat campground.

Good to hear Sunday island was a happy place for the Bardi people , My grandfather help establish the mission there and used to tell us wonderful stories from that time . Revisited there myself and the people always speak of the missionaries of the time with love and thankfulness . Love the One arm point area .😍😍

Thanks John. It’s one of those things - we loved the pearl farm experience and the time at Sunday Island - especially since that mission period wasn’t a universally happy one for many people. In this case the locals did have a happy time. But not all the followers like those more historical or “sedate” experiences. For us it was nice to take a few days in a remote and lovely part of the country. I hope all is well @sulbrickfarm. cheers

@nextleveloz Hi, Sheringham in North Norfolk, a beautiful coastal town, Google image it 👍 Really enjoying your series of videos, keep up the great updates and enjoy your gap year. I will have to visit your country before I get to old! 👍

@@patricksheringham5965 Wonderful part of England. Not too far from where the Prince and Princess of Wales’ country residence is (was?). We were lucky enough to live in Wiltshire for a while in the early 90s. Loved it. We get back to the UK every now and then - but not this year obviously!! Thanks for watching and glad you’re enjoying it. Keep watching because the next few episodes couldn’t be more different to country motoring in the UK.

Will do! Have been putting that one off a bit - distracted on the one hand bit also never quite know what people are interested in. But will work on something after the next couple of episodes. cheers
