I had the privilege or seeing her perform this live. Her performance of I Am Here was one of the most incredible, raw, emotional, show-stopping moments I’ve ever witnessed on stage. She got a standing ovation for at least 2 minutes. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
Wow, so glad to see you reacting to Cynthia Erivo! Kudos to the patron who suggested it. She is so talented it's unbelievable. I think your reaction to her was pretty similar to my first reaction, just sheer amazement. If you're interested in seeing more from her, I highly recommend her version of 'A Piece of Sky' from Yentl, her performance of 'The Colour Purple' on the Today Show, or 'Purple Rain' which she sang with her fellow cast member Jennifer Hudson shortly after Prince died.
She's amazing. I must have been living under a rock somewhere because I'd never heard of her until she was one of the professional duet partners on American Idol. I loved her performance of "Time After Time" with Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon . Even if you don't react to it, I think you'd enjoy it. She blew me away then and this was soo much better.
