Small footprint forces us to take decisions - lots of inputs and outputs for better connectivity or bigger terminals/sockets/more spacing around them.... We went for connectivity/versatility :-)
@@r423sdex It gives a better connection because of the increased surface area of contact. A full-size jack is also more reliable and durable - something I have observed by my own experience over the last 40 years or so. 3.5mm makes a lot of sense for portable devices for obvious reasons but not for serious home hi-fi (or professional use).
@@cyrusaudio Sorry but I feel that is a compromise that should not be made with serious audiophile equipment. It gives a message that headphone listening was not a priority when designing the equipment and was felt to be far less important than the speaker outputs.
Not many people use asynchronous USB input and additionally it allowed us to keep the price down. If this input is a must then we recommend i7-XR (discounted now) or i9-XR.
