CZ 457 Varmint 22WMR - Out of Box Accuracy 

Thanks for the info. I'm a fan of 22WMR for knocking down woodchucks inside 150yds. I would be plenty confident on coyotes inside 100yds as well. I haven't had an opportunity on any fox or coyote yet though. The CZ is a great platform as well. I'm glad to have a chance to try this one out.

No, for me the regret came when my favorite rifle was outlawed, bought back off me and destroyed. [after the mosque shooting] But there is always a new direction one can take.

@@gerhardschulzy I bought my M-14 for 995 Kiwi dollars and received $1150. I refinished the wood and with the metalwork all in tip top shape they graded it as new. There were 4 grads, as new down to parts guns. So I did fine. Where guys missed out were the ones with collectors Winchesters, they were on the way to a hiding as rarity wasn't really a factor, or those with specially worked up AR's 15's and 10's. Some had many thousands of dollars tied up and may have had to fight for their money. Right away when this was announced the gangs stated they were not handing in their weapons! That's when the authorities should have acted but alas..... You guessed it. Now they are blatantly defying the law and several busts have netted a good number of illegal firearms. They'd be a ton of them out there! Sorry you lost what you had. I do 90% of my shooting at the range and my bolt actions are currently legal. Best wishes.

Same here.... i`ve got an old Marlin Stainless Heavy Barreled 22mag that i bought probably close to 20yrs ago. I can hold 1in groups @ 100yds all day long with it. Good ole CCI 40gr, it just works.

Daryl Zampese They seem to knock down ground hogs with body shots pretty consistently. I guess I’ve never looked for the exit hole on any of them. Next time I’ll pay attention.

They work very well on cougar in the head.

I got the American barrel 24.8 inch or 63 cm. It shot really good att 50 m. Norma HP federal fmj and the maximag HP and fmj all 40 grain. My friends with 22mag in standard cz length all shot crappy. And im not a better shooter then any of them. Aguila silver eagle was bad. But now i just hunt with the Norma HP.

22WMR is a bit over priced for sure. I think the demand isn't quite there anymore. Price of everything is going to go up with our current situation. *cough *cough

The wind and 22mag don't get along for sure. That was why I decided not to try groups at 100yds. I think the 50yd groups had more to do with me than the wind though. I focused more on my breathing and follow through on the last group and it made a HUGE difference. The rifle might've needed to be fouled up a bit too. Thanks for watching.

Hard to beat thee ole Marlin 22mag`s. I know, i have one. And at 50yds, holes all touching. At 100yds, under an inch group. Mine is around 20yrs old now, still drives`em in the bullseye all day long.
