I've got the same gun that I'll be testing here shortly as well. One piece of constructive advice - try to keep your cheek on the stock between every shot. Keeping the same cheek weld can help consistency.

I agree. Relaxing during the cartridge change is fine, but keep the meat of your cheek intact.

Thank you . I will shoot a few different boxes of Eley soon and see if it likes one more than the other.

Really enjoying your videos, have the same riffle and it can place 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards with Lapua Long Range, also likes Eley Contact, and SK Long Range Match at 200yds. I am also new at the sport, have been practicing for about 2 years now. It’s true that keeping your cheek on the stock helps with less time re acquiring the target but that will come with more practice and having a very solid gun stand. You are doing well, keep it up! I have seen many shooters with very high class 22’s with all the latest and greatest accessories and still are not able to place 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards as you are doing. Thank you for spending the money and time helping us see first hands what each ammo could potentially do.

SK Standard Plus in my 457 Varmint shot a 0.239" 5 shot group and a 0.43" Group on the second five round Magazine at 50yds. Looking forward to running other SK Ammo as I can find it. ELEY Contact performs well too, but not as well as SK. Pillar Bedding coming soon for my CZ.

I find a bipod with rubber feet tends to scatter shots and I use a firm front rest on a steel base.🙃 SK Pistol Match Spec works best in my old Brno 2

Good shooting & great rifle. SK ammo is usually better than some of the higher priced match ammo like Eley. What brand was the scope? Appreciate your time. 👍 🎯

Thanks Bill, I appreciate the comment. The scope is an Arken SH4 6-24 x 50 . You can buy direct from Arken and they currently have them discounted.

I shoot the same gun but with the synthetic stock with SK rifle match and an Elements Optics Titan, at 50 yds I can get 0.26" 5 shot groups but I go to 100 yds the group opens out to over 2" what am I doing wrong? please advise, thank you
@22waysoutdoors
@22waysoutdoors Год назад
I have had similar issues with the groups opening up at 100. I just acquired an MTR version with the match chambered barrel. I hope there is a noticeable difference in accuracy when I take it out to 100 +. I hope to have a video up in a few days. ( waiting on scope rings )

Accuracy is all about consistency in your shooting process removing as many variables as possible ….. why do keep lifting your head from your cheek weld after every shot? Honestly I initially stopped watching as that inconsistency is so basic. My apologies …… you say you are a newbie so all the best and learn quickly! Precision rifle shooting is a thoroughly relaxing sport, it is also a very mentally tiring process with all the concentration required, believe me at my age (68) after 40 minuties shooting I am tuckered out but very relaxed ….. enjoy!

No worries my friend. Thanks for watching. ( or watching some of it 😉)
@billwiley7216
@billwiley7216 Год назад
Actually a well experienced and good shooter will assume the exact same positioning on their rifle and have the same sight picture through their optic EVERY TIME they go to shoot. They can take a shot, stop, move around and go back and their fundamentals will be so ingrained that their targeting accuracy will not be affected. A less experienced or perhaps a not as accomplished shooter will be the one that more benefits from not changing anything in their positioning shot to shot not the top shooters. The key to accuracy AND consistency is to train yourself to do everything the same whether it be in one group at the same time or a shooting session a week apart. You master that and then you have the abilities that losing and resetting your sight picture for some reason will not affect your final results.

@@billwiley7216 Salut Bill, I do fully understand and appreciate your comments, however at my age (69 on 1 Feb) even remembering what I did yesterday never mind last week takes some effort. Cordialement RB
@billwiley7216
@billwiley7216 Год назад
@@romeobravo2023 No problem, everyone has their own issues to contend with. The reason for my comment is where you stated or implied that lifting your head from the cheek weld would automatically induce inaccuracy for a group size and I disagreed with that statement being in your reply as if it were a fact for all shooters aiming for accuracy. Have fun and keep shooting.

I'm thinking of getting a riffle, So is this what you do to have fun. kinda boning to watch. maybe some shooters together and placing some bets. After a little while doing this by myself I would start singing talking to myself or watch RU-vid Videos. Oh sorry its a review on ammo. My bad

It’s a lot of fun. Watching the groups come together and always trying to get better is what keeps us doing this day after day. If you get into firearms of any type it is advisable to practice and practice often. This keeps my skills sharp for hunting season 😉. Good luck and thanks for watching.
