Yes, Pink Lake is also meromictic and has varved sedimentation like Crawford Lake. Pink Lake within Gatineau Park is also a protected site. Pink Lake may indeed have as good a record but until as detailed a study is done there it would be impossible to determine that. The team working on Crawford Lake was comprised of over 40 researchers from Canada and around the world and was a very expensive effort. It is unlikely, at least in the short term, that it would be feasible to put the same effort into a Pink Lake study. Another potential Canadian site, this time from a marine basin, would be the varved sediments found in Saanich Inlet on Vancouver Island where the annual layers are very thick and are made up of 5 layers laid down through each year. Same issue though. Very expensive to do the work and in that case complicated by very deep water.
