Desirey is still smaller looking than the other babies or at least to me she does. Desirey was very tired, like she missed her nap time. Which she wanted to be held and snuggled up to mom and have some warm milk. It was really sweet to see how much the other 2-3 monkeys were trying to help with Desirey
Désiréy was the last, or next to the last, baby born in Bossy's troop, so she's a few months younger than most of the other 2023 babies. She was also very petite when she was born, so that's another reason she looks so small.
Mr.A.M. , it's such a pleasure to watch u tell a story, with your camera , can't nobody do it like u. When Desirey was peeling a week old orange peel, and u said she's at her wits end, am still laughing at that . Your the best.
I think the reason Dolly is letting her suckle is because she is just holding the teat in her mouth as a comfort., but the second she starts to actually suckle is when Dolly pulls away. ♥
It does t help that Dolly is clearly spoiling her daughter, one she has been waiting for years, and saying no to her is hard. The problem is by now Desirey should be weaned but still begging for milk isn’t good. Dolly has to be strict with her but can’t resist spoiling her first and possibly only daughter
@@j.s.walker3656instincts from wild monkeys allowed nursing for a year or more. Early weaning just makes baby sicklier, lacking nutrition and comfort they become desperate.
Poor Desirey. Being a big girl is tough. It’s easy to feel sad for her but if Dolly doesn’t stop this soon and a new baby takes Desirey’s place, it’s not going to be pleasant for any of them. ❤
AM with your dates on the thumbnails, from now on, can you please make the colours more contrasting instead of white on a yellow background, it is hard to read. Thanks.
Desirey's aunts help Dolly out by dragging Desirey away from mum, as part of the weaning process. Fascinating to see this little drama play out with her plaintive cries for milk. AM, you did a great job filming this heartwarming video! Many thanks for posting. 😆❤🐒🐒
I began watching the Macaque Monkeys in Cambodia a few yrs ago.W/all the tourists & hundreds of videographers their daily lives are interrupted so much they're not wild anymore. They'rey not all named & there's no narration. I've been watching these Rhesus Macaques 2yrs. You'd be surprised how quickly you pick up on names & how you're able to recognize them. I love how AM narrates, earned their trust which allows us to get to know them but doesn't interfere with their wild lives.
@@taraleemoore5199 I started watching him eight years ago when he first started his channel and I’ve learned so much. I recognize a good amount of them but not all of them by no means. Arroz has called out the bad actors several times through the years & those of us that came from those videos appreciated his candor because they were scamming so many people out of money and killing the monkeys, it was very sad but to find out what was happening behind the scenes made us ill. Anyways I love talking to a fellow macaque lover, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. 🌺
I thought so too but I'm not positive since Dolly is such a big girl. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'd sure love another little girl for her!
It's so amazing how they all pitch in to help momma! It's hard even though it's time it's still hard not to feel bad for baby. (Who has the same name.) AM another beautiful story on Monkey Hill Thank You
That was a frog's nest Slashy had. He was eating the eggs/embryos from it. Dolly knows when Desirey needs comforting and even milk. A lot of the other small ones that are weaned more than likely sleep cuddled up to their moms at night and even get a little suckling in. It's always seeing how many "aunties" the babies have. Reminds me of my young years when some of my old aunts went on and on kissing me and yes, even pinching my cheeks sometimes. I totally feel for Desirey. lol
This is so sad I feel for these Babies this is the most vulnerable time for them and it seems when this is the most likely time when something happens to them or they just disappear it's really sad.
12:34 I think Desirey has a mild problem with her balance, if you watch from the time stamp you can see as she starts to run she’s very unbalanced, eventually she rolls over. It might look as if it’s deliberate at first glance but I’ve gone through this at a very slow speed and I think she overbalances to the left, compensates and rolls onto her right side. Might be why she’s not got friends and Mom is late weaning her. Also at 15:50
If Dolly doesn't quit caving, Desirey will still be at the milk bar as a juvenile. We've all seen those videos of nearly adult monkeys still on their mothers' teats.
I think the difference with how she weaned Baty and Spocky compared to her other children could have to do with troop politics at the time. She probably wanted them weaned early to help with their independence and ensure their survival. She's low ranking and the low rank boys just have to learn a bit faster than their high born contemporaries since they're the ones who will be out of the troop first. Considering both Spocky and Baty were ousted by Barry and Barney even earlier than most, it was good planning on Dolly's part.
I’ve noticed that Desirely has been hanging at the milk bar and not being apart of her peers. When the baby comes she is gonna have a hard time. Dolly might hurt her by continuing to breast feed her . While all the other ones are cut off and playing. Looks Looks like her fits and screaming does not work anymore. Dolly has to stop letting her get her way as soon as she cries. It seems she isn’t letting her drink just using a pacifier. I notice she isn’t cuddling her while she sleep. Just letting her sleep. Kinda sad she weaned some of her kids at 4 months but letting her still get milk. I can see her cheeks full. I’m sure we will see her struggle if Dolly don’t wake up
Its so sad because if they lived in the jungle where food is readily available none- of the crying begging milk ritual would happen. Contrary to what we see in the semi-wild you dont see this in the jungle where food is readily available. The little ones can find their own food 24/7. When you see grown adults starving especially if they are lower-ranking you already know the littles are starving too!
No Disirey doesn't really play with any other monkeys, she's too busy hanging around mom Dolly hoping for a chance at the milk bar. Dolly's indulgence towards Desirrey is going to bite her in the butt when her new infant arrives.
She has a couple yearlings that she plays with who were also born late like her, but she's not as adventurous like they are because she's still fighting for the boob. She'll socialize more once she's fully weaned.
Don’t think I have seen a baby dragged like that when it’s sleeping. They usually grab onto mum instinctively. Deserey must really be exhausted. She truly looked physically sad biding her time & moping around her mum.
Mom and daughter will sort it out in the end, they wont have a choice in the matter, nature has a way of making things right, in the end and these are wild monkeys at the end of the day, but I'm so happy dolly got her girl , i hope she has another as well. And maybe that will be her last chance at motherhood. Who knows .
I was wondering the same thing. I don't ever remember hearing such loud insect sounds recorded on the hill before. It's been like that in the past few videos.
I know this is the year for 2 different groups/kinds of cicadas to emerge, here in the US, but I don't have any idea of China's insect situation. It sure sounds like them. They can drive you insane!
@@j.s.walker3656 Desirey is not spoiled. Dolly was a loving mom to all her offspring. She may be a little indulgent with Desirey, but she's not spoiled. Dolly will wean her girl in her own time.
It’s kinda sad how much their life is gonna change when the new babies come. Thank gosh for their siblings. Can you image the feeling they get seeing the new baby sucking their milk. Reminds me of Scooby. He was so sad
We should change Desirey’s name to Mopey. It’s easy to see why Dolly is having a problem with her. Desirey is just so darn cute. 🥰 This was such a heartwarming story A.M.. You did a lovely job. Thank you! ❤️❤️
It's had to believe Baty is 8 years old. I miss his antics and those big ears. Used to love seeing him throwing tantrums, even his ears drooped like they were sad as well, used to crack me up. Hope he is doing well wherever he is.💙💙
Is it just me? or does it look like Des is very stumbly, and uncoordinated, she doesn't move like a yearling? She looks like, to me, either she's developing more slowly, or her muscles and nerves are immature in their development? Am I seeing things incorrectly? 🤔 And her reluctance to interact with her peers may say alot about what's happening to her??? Just an observation.
She seems to have a problem with her rear left leg, at times it appears that it gives way under her. It's noticeable when she's running or going up/down anywhere the leg seems unable to carry her weight at times.
Is everything still going well with Floppi and her baby? Unfortunately, I keep waiting to hear that Bo has snatched her baby once again. Bo may be acting disinterested but has proven she can never be trusted around babies in general but with Floppi's specifically.
It’s not the kids that are the ones that have a hard time it’s how the parents wean them. If she would have been like she normally does. She wouldn’t have a screaming crying big baby to feed
Does anyone know why many of the adult monkeys have very thin or mostly no fur at the base of their tails on their lowest back area. I have noticed that more then a few are down to the skin in that particular area for some reason?
Princess Desirey is so beautiful and sweet she doesn't understand if mom doesn't ween her now it would be harder later come bed time Ms Dolly will let her at the milk bar so she can have a good night rest MrVo it amazes me how you can remember all their names I enjoy watching your channel the stories you tell and music you plays are awesome 👍 love from USA ❤
Those cries are definitely heart melting. It's easy to see why Dolly caved in. Any loving parents would have a hard time saying no to that little sweetheart.
Desirey is so darn cute but way past weaning. She’s already distant from her peers and the more Dolly caves I’m afraid the little girl will quickly become a brat too. Not good for her future. A distant brat will get taught a harsh lesson, monkey style.
Such a precious story of a mother and child who just isn't ready to let go. The tender mercy of the mother is so beautiful. She really does love her darling daughter. Wonderful video ♡
