Growing up in a small town in America I was the only one listening to these guys and I still love this band twenty five years later good music from Denmark
Thank you man, thank you… I'm from wonderful Denmark - born and raise here, and with your story is a pleasure to say this. you deserve something very nice to day happen, cuz you just made my day pretty good with your comment.. Damn, D-A-D is a damn good band yees...
I’m 41 right now and i start to listen D.A.D when was 15. My favourite album is Help your selfish 🤟. I saw them live performing 6 times. Big fan from Portugal
This is the sound of my innocent childhood all those years ago .. can’t listen to this without aching to live those years again.. man, feels my blood has been dried with nostalgia... all the memories 💚
Songs like this were some of the gems you used to get exposed to when it was MTV Europe and they didn't show reality shows all day. When it became MTV UK & Ireland things got a lot less diverse musically.
Great song. Awesome band. Learned of them thanks to my great buddy Dusty. Such a shame that I never heard them before. Thanks Dusty for sharing your tastes.
Växta fan upp till denna musik, väldigt känsloförknippad och man får en nostalgi tripp. Älskar det här bandet. Finns inget bättre. Det här är min barndom.
First listened D-A-D when i was still a kid thanks to my father. Now i am 23 and its one of the best memories from my childhood. My favorite album is call of the wild
A brilliant song by a great underrated band. Along with a few others like the Sleeze Beez, Mr. Big, and the greatest band in the world EXTREME, they represent the best of this genre.
omg Sleeze Beez? I had a compilation in the 80s which included them doing Girls, Girls, Nasty, Nasty... I assumed that was their "one big hit" even though no-one had heard of it... they had a career???
I got run over by truth one day ,Didn't see the red light... Killer How can someone who is not from an English speaking country write such great lyrics??
dude... english got so much viking in it you should speak danish. its basically a simple trade language all can pronounce. They impacted it quite a lot. For a start, they gave us the word “they”, which I have used twice already. They (there it is again, that Viking word) also gave us “their” and “them”. Without the Vikings, we would probably have had a third person plural pronoun beginning with “h”, as existed in pre-Viking Old English. When you change an entire pronoun, you are reaching deep into a language. French did not give us any personal pronouns, for example. Old Norse, the language of the Vikings, also gave us many hundreds of words, especially the ones that begin with “sk”: skate, skid, skill, skim, skin, skip, skirt, skulk, skull, sky; and also “sc”: scab, scalp, scant, scare, scathe, scoff, score, scowl, scramble, scrap, scrape, scratch, scrawl, scream, screech, scrub, scum, scurvy. But many other common words came into the English language from Old Norse - ugly, law, outlaw, fellow, get, give, take, …. It is likely that the northern dialects of English changed faster than the southern dialects because of the mixture of English and Danish (Viking) people living in the north. Using “s” rather than “th” for verbs (“he talks” instead of “he talketh”) began in the northern areas of England (the areas settled by Vikings) and spread south. Similarly, the use of “are” instead of Old English “sindon” spread from the north - compare modern Danish “er” (is, are) to German “sind” (are) - this could well be Viking influence. Finally, right across the north-east of England there are towns and villages with names ending in “by” (e.g. Whitby) which indicate Norse settlers (there are many placenames in Scandinavia ending with “by” as well). So the Vikings significantly influenced the English language. We can get by without French and Latin words and still write long idiomatic sentences just using our Anglo-Saxon and Viking words. We cannot get by without Viking words very easily because “they”, “their”, and “them” comes from Norse, and possibly also the verb ending “-s” (third person singular present tense) and the word “are”. Norse had too early and too deep an impact on English to be completely ignored.. hope you still have the account. its something many dont know.
LYRICS There was a real thin line Between right or wrong In those Walt Disney times When my parents were young.. But the line has disappeared... And you wonder where it hides.... And you wanna go out; but you stay inside..... I got run over by truth one day Didn't see the red light Since the accident I've walked this way - I only did what felt right... But from this day on; it's either: grow or pay! Grow or pay 'Coz I got run over by truth one day Sometimes the sky's so grey That you cannot see beyond it And even the wildest of dreams - Can't take those lines from your forehead Yeah! I know there's a bill - And it's gonna make it's way somehow With and excuse and a bow; I'll be paying it now: I got run over by truth one day Didn't see the red light Since the accident I've walked this way - I only did what felt right... But from this day on; it's either: grow or pay! Grow or pay 'Coz I got run over by truth one day Grow or pay From this day on it's either: grow or pay Grow or pay Grow or pay I got run over by the truth one day And since the accident I've walked this way Didn't see the red light But from this day on; it's either grow or pay! Grow or pay 'Coz I got run over by the truth one day...
I've ALWAYS LOVED this song! However, one thing I did notice was, it does differ a little towards the end, I have a copy of it in my collection and that one is just a touch 'better' at the end - more harmonizing. Has anyone else heard that one? Neat song, neat band!! Thanks for posting.

Kan slet ikke forstå at der ikke er flere hits? Hvordan fanden kan elendige musikere som Justin Bieber få så mange hits, men gode rock-bands som D-A-D næsten ingen? Uretfærdig verden men et genialt nummer!
