How could anyone doubt this man's sexuality? One of the main things about him is, his unabashed use of his physique and sexuality. He makes no bones about the fact women like him. C'mon, did you think the video for 'how does it feel' was done for art? Historically, black male entertainers masculinity has always been marginalised. James Brown, Little Richard and Chuck Berry all had their acts, doused for being to sexually alluring. In fear it would be too corrupting for a (white) female audience. This was even referenced in the film 'Dreamgirls', when 'Jimmy Got Soul'..lol.
I agree. It's the same with Maxwell, Lenny Kravitz and Eric Benet. They all know that 70% of the women come to their live shows just to "fantasize"...so they don't want to leave them dissatisfied...mentally :-) They also know that the other 30% obviously recognize that they are "good looking", but they are equally (and sometimes more) intrigued by their talent, showmanship and stage presence. I love the world more because of D'Angelo. Damn, supremely talented band for this incredible artist to bounce off of. Saw The Vanguard live a few years ago, one of the best shows of my life.
Wonderful to see Jesse up on stage again, another overlooked and underrated brother. An incredibly talented artist that helped make a couple of other artists into legends...such as Prince and Morris Day. I grew up listening to Jesse Johnsons Revue. These two talents collaburating was genius. And I dont mean to sound rude but Jesse has always had a cool classy way of carrying himself, so when he brings that also to the stage, mixed with D'Angelos raw sensuality...its absolute Genius.
