D's genius comes from having a musically arrested development that stops somewhere in the mid 70s at the latest, when things were real & from the heart, music was written and played--not sampled and stolen, and being imperfectly, beautifully & emotionally human was okay...a time before the crazy idea crept in of having to be click-track perfect. D's flying the 'Keep It Real' flag, and God bless him for doing so...this is what REAL music sounds like. Church is in session!
