Obviously, when dealing with something other than straight multiples (large [10 ft square] → huge [15 ft square], rather than medium to large, you first have to determine what your x value would really be. (In this case, x=1.5.)

D&D&D&D Law firm is a real thing in my homegame. They're a cult. They help, but only technically. They also provide advice to adventurers who need it. Their information is only *technically* correct, which they assure you is the best kind of correct to be.

I like how in the first video, the clock changed considerably with every scene change, while in this video the clock is broken and you can see the second-hand trying and failing to move forward, meaning you have absolutely no idea how much time passed between all these other friends suddenly appearing and disappearing in the sudden jump cuts.

Ok but the point about the amount of scales increasing exponentially as opposed to linearly is true because of the Square-Cube Law: for when an object increases size by a factor x, its surface area will increase by a factor of x^2 and its volume will increase by a factor of x^3. Thus in this example, if a dragon doubles in size, its surface area will increase four-fold, thus getting you four times as many scales.

They only double in size between wyrmling and young though; large to huge only increases by 1.5x, and from huge to gargantuan is 1.33x, so depending on the sizes at hand 4x, 2.25x or 1.77x the number of scales could all be accurate.
