Picture the scene: a colossal Allied invasion force has assembled in Southern England, anxiously awaiting fair weather to board their craft and cross the English Channel. The navies of eight different nations have rallied with nearly 7,000 ships of all types, ready to undertake the mammoth task of transporting the invasion forces to France. The Allied invasion of Normandy, also known as D-Day and Operation Neptune, is set to lay the foundation for the liberation of Western Europe from Axis occupation.

In dedication to these grand events, we're launching three new event Operations inspired by real naval actions off the Normandy coastline. These Operations arrive as a separate battle type, each lasting for 2 weeks. The first one will become available in Update 13.4, while the other two Operations will arrive in Update 13.5.

problem with that, unless they let people rent them, most people dont have Belfast or some of the other actual ships that were there. But I like the idea of being as authentic as possible, I hope they find a way of doing it.

WOWS should also do a historical event of the Battle of Midway, Battle of the Mariana Islands, Guadalcanal, Battle of the Phillipine Sea, and Battle of Leyte Gulf...I have a feeling that this historical event is the marking of an epic journey in WOWS. I thought it would start when they introduced Operation Dynamo, but we all know how that turned out.

That should have added E-boats instead of submarines. Super low HP but extremely hard to detect but can’t hide underwater whilst spotting you from a mile away.

Remember when BB USS Texas commander at D Day flooded her torpedo ballasts on one side of the ship to increase her Main Gun firing range for the shore bombardment. LMAO the legend just gangsta leaned a battleship !

you did not fix any of the issues raised in PT? No value in going for guns if you do you get picked off by guns you cannot see the team sits and gets fcked by eboats or mines and you cannot get from one side of map to other to activate each phase? The guns and fixed units would have been fully observed before dday having to spot is just ruining this potentially great option. and french CN for the fixed offer? they were sitting it out on the sea bed in Oran on d day? I killed all the guns got wacked and came last a guy takes 3 eboats dies in 5 min comes first?

We want more historical events like that in the future😊 In my opinion this mode should only be allowed for ships which took part in the dday. If a player doesnt have a ship from list there should be a opportunity to rent some of them👍

I enjoyed these operations on the PTS they are a lot of fun, although the classified documents were pretty useless, the good thing about that is if you forget to mount them it doesn’t matter.

I would disagree. The buffs are pretty significant. Need your dd to be effective for taking out shore guns. 250% buff to pen those. Or 20% bigger depth charge radius to clear mine fields doesn't hurt either. 30% better AA fire is nice too. Nothing that breaks the game but 20 or 30% buffs in a few mission relevant areas is going to help.

Well they've now done Schnellboots. How long before they and their American, British and Japanese counter parts become premiums to buy. If you thought subs were a pain imagine these little guys with an unending reload of torpedoes zipping about at 60+ knots (assuming conversion bias compared to destroyers) and the target area of a quarter of a DD on the battlefield. The only thing against them will be they only fire 2 torpedoes at a time. Will be interesting to see how much of a punch they have. Still looking forward to the event.

I would rather E-boats instead of submarines, at least they would have super low HP and would require skill to use. Unlike submarines brainless lock on homing torpedo gameplay whilst having the same HP as destroyers and a higher concealment. E-boats would just have dumb torpedoes and rely on aiming and skill.

For DD drivers, please do mine sweepers, you guys have the best depth charges to sweeping mines. Battleships mains will appreciate you very much. CL and CAs usually support both DDs and BBs. You priority will be PTs and DDs. You guys can attack the shore installations but remember, you guys are better at killing ships. (Jervis is really good mine sweeper) Battleships, any ships that are not West Virginia. Just maneuver and avoid PTs. Once at range against shore installations, just focus on it.

"Everything is like I historical reality" accept your rules specifically do not allow the Crusier HMS Belfast '43', which is the ship that is literally defined by her role in D day for UK. Couldn't you guys at least consider adding ad amendment to the rules to allow specific ships of 8 to attend?

You can, but there's a certain amount of randomness to how accurate the shells are. The classified information reduces the randomness.

Why is plus 2 matchmaking still in the game? It's such a dull MM choice.. Can we get an update where it's removed? Take a tier six Farragut.. Not fast not stealthy even with concealment rig. It will face tier eight japanese destroyer Akizuki (which is stupidly broken).. Akizuki is more stealthy, has twice as much health hits twice as hard than farragut and in 3 whole seconds.. Not to mention the torpedoes.

I think the gimmick of classified documents is too much of a game changer, as well as additional equipment for past events. Mines are exciting because they are invisible to the player. Operation Dynamo was well done, Raid for the filth was great. Not enough passion, goddammit.

Great idea, absolutely terrible job of recreating conditions and forces as they were on D day. No dd's had to depth charge mine fields on d day and the Luftwaffe hardly showed, and as for the schnell boats Please! at least wg figured out d day was at the beaches of normandy. I am supprised that the Ijn and Italian navy arn't represented! Wargaming do SOME RESEARCH next time. on scale of one to ten I give it a one.

The main reason for the luftwaffe and mines is to make the operation actually interesting and hard. If it was only artillery and a few S boats it would be way too easy and honestly boring.

So it was impossible for you to forget? So why haven't you had any articles, events, or even the slightest movement about Çanakkale (Gallipoli)? The world's largest navy and landings were made. They were defeated against the Ottoman Empire, which was very weak in terms of military, technological and ammunition. Why is there no interaction about this?

Gallipoli would be a fantastic Operation, and they may yet make it if people like you keep reminding them! I would also love to see Yavuz Sultan (ex-Goeben) added to the game. To answer your question (in my opinion) it is because no one really knows about Gallipoli. The Allies lost, so it was not publicized widely like their “victories” were.

@@xPureNRG007x Çanakkale (gallipoli) victory 18 March. and there is no reminder. However, WG always celebrates Anzac Day on April 25th. As you know, ANZAC Day is a day of celebration or questioning to remember the day when the soldiers landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula suffered many casualties. People may not know this, but it is very significant that a game company that tells all historical events does not do this.
