An innovative isometric strategy-action game, players take on the role of a nameless courier, responsible for delivering a mysterious package to the even more mysterious scientist Derrida at Genoq headquarters.
The building has been taken over by legions of bio-chemical monstrosities, and it's up to you to reach Derrida, as well as rescuing workers you find along the way.

The most memorable game I ever played on the Amiga - brilliantly conceived on every level. All the more remarkable that it was the work of just one person!

@@inversephaseInteresting! Curious that they don't get a mention elsewhere (even the Wikipedia article on the game only mentions one additional coder and a musician).

A real masterpiece. I consider this one of the best games ever made. It certainly was one of my top 5 on the system.

I've seen previous playthroughs of this game before but this is one of those games I never get sick of watching. The concept is truly terrifying, especially when you read the dialog of characters like Isao Nishimi, who describes the computer security system not working properly, and bio-organisms being invisible.

Thank you for the video. I used to find out what is the exact name of this game for >20 years. I first played this game while I'm learning MS-DOS 4.22, Win3.0 & OS/2, at a community center nearby. The days were VGA/SVGA video cards are still uncommon. I was playing DGEN with CGA card with "black/white" monochrome monitor. I always remembered that the game dir is C:\DGEN. Finally, someone like you did a gameplay recordings & let us know how's the story ending of DGEN.

this game may have inspired Alien Hunter, another Amiga game. It takes elements like the bouncing laser and room-by-room basis where you secure rooms by covering the vent shafts. The isometric view is impressive once you get used to the controls, and it has a good story as you go along, getting bits of information from NPCs and computers. It also has some dark humour, "Building peace through better weapons."😉 I got it when I was about twelve, but didn't finish it until some years later. There is more than one exit to each floor, so it isn't exactly linear and a guide may not always help

The passwords can be diffeent in this game such as at 37:30. I had no idea what it was so I looked up this video but "war" or anything similar like "War" didn't work for me. In my version, the man says "I am the bringer of death" so I used "death" as the password and it worked! A brilliant game and one that proves simplicity beats having 12+ buttons on your controller.

Maybe this game is fun but I remember when I saw this game for the first time on the CD32 around 1993/94 and thought to myself, this is the worst looking game I have seen.

AGA ? its hard to believe this game coded for AGA. its very bad graphic capability and seeming there is no AGA specific effects. Amiga was the magic machine & have ultimate graphic capability games & demos than this worst work, even in ECS / OCS chipset !

The AGA version has a revised colour palette and additional sound effects. I think the intro cutscene is longer too.
