Ahhh yes the tackle box. Mine is just a waterproof container with everything I need while at camp. You aren't a real bow hunter unless you have a tackle box.
Just to be clear, this is the exact same film that professional shops use, just in a DIY kit. There is also a can of satin clear coat that comes in the kit to finish your dipped item. Thanks for the vid!
HEY THANKS BRO!!! wow, memories.....i remember when I went to YOUR page and busted your nuts about YOUR videos......OH WAIT....I DIDN'T!!! THANKS THOUGH!!
Good job, looking to try this our with some arisoft guns. I film airsoft events all over the place and I love to customize guns etc. This is a cool process.
@ANT6184 it's not bullet proof, but this is the exact same film that professional shops use, just in a DIY kit. There is also a can of satin clear coat that comes in the kit to finish your dipped item.
The face mask you are using is also known as a comfort mask, it provides little if any filter protection. When working with chemical sprays it is recommended, if not required to use the minimum of an N95 filter mask which will run you about $1 if you buy several though ideally you should use a basic respirator they start at about $20.
I wasted $90 on this stuff , I tried it on the same gun stock twice with bad results, I followed instructions to spec. maybe I'll try it again, good video .
A suggestion.... Use 1/4 inch masking tape. The kind used for pin stripeing ....less stress on the printed pattern and still enough to do the edge floatation
last time i checked you save a ton with the dip kit! i just had a gun stock done it cost me 125 bucks! he just made alot of shit look awsome for 99 bucks when a business would have charged you hundreds for all the stuff he dipped added up!
@jsgunner71 look at the lettering. when you put the film in the water you should be reading the lettering backwards. I am using the timber ridge HD so when I put the film in the water Timber Ridge is backwards. Mine did not come marked either.
If you bought the kit I'm thinking of it's not MyDipKit - it's a cheap knock off. The "spray gun" doesn't work and you have to mix your own paints and chemicals. The real product can be found at the website for MyDipKit. As for durability it holds up great! Let the clear (top) coat cure for a week before reassembly.
@RadoBoga The spray itself isn't toxic, it's not going to cause you to grow an arm out of your chest...the dust mask prevents the dust and spray from inhalation...the kit itself won't harm you- If this was something that I needed a carbon mask and hazmat suit lmao, well I just wouldn't have done it
Bowhunter4e I used the Timber Ridge HD for the first time tonight. It went pretty good for the first time but I dipped a european mount white tail skull and I had some trouble getting the water transfer in the eye sockets. I was wondering if you have ever dipped a skull or if you can make a video of how you make sure you get into the eye sockets? Thanks....
and FYI, its not supposed to turn the water into an ink- the camo pattern is a carbohydrate based film that is designed to FLOAT on top of the water so items can be dipped and the camouflage pattern stays intact....what would be the point in turning the water into ink?....so yeah, thanks again!!
@benhartmann08 yes, you can use them on barrels...but you need to use a self-etching primer on all metal pieces...I would try and contact LP for the best application and better instructions
@drlx147 I don't know if it is scratch proof but today when I went to put the gloss on it I accidentally sprayed it with the activator and it washed the pattern right off the skull. I had to redo it but I think it turned out better the second time.
@greeneyeddevil14 just cause it has a stock like a rifle and a bolt doesn't mean it's a bolt action rifle. i myself have a bolt action wood stock .410ga shotgun
@dgadams2 You can get hydrographic film in just about any design you can think of. Flames, skulls, 100 dollar bills, carbon fiber, snakeskin etc etc etc. Look on eBay.
Can you get air bubbles in the film? I was going to get mine done and I saw one in the process and it had some spots from air bubbles and I was told its almost nothing u can do and that he will go over again or something to touch up
if you have stickers on the plastic item your dipping and want to keep them on it can you cocer them with tape and then peel off the tape when your done dipping the peice?
@bowhunter4e I have a question. Im dipping a part and getting spots that are not sticking and spotting. Also another time image was smeared and stretched on the part. I was told I was useing too much activator, I just copyed the way you did it. Any advice? Thanks.
hey i want to know if it is possible to "double dip" ? i.e. prime>> base coat>> 1st dip pattern >> clear coat >> 2nd dip pattern. i was wondering because I want to dip using 2 colors but the same pattern.
I'm pretty sure your MyDipKit will do more than one outlet plate. Seriously, how many of those do you think you can do with the supplies included in the kit? More than 5? Than you just saved money. I doubt anyone would be buying this kit for just one outlet plate anyway, also the kit with one meter of film is now only $69. Just saying.
And your world isn't ? You have nothing better to do than reply to me ! and i wasn't even talking to you ! You're worried about what i think !! Hahahaha
