I had seen him perform in Trinidad back in the 90's, and now about a quarter century later, last night in London. That voice....his catalogue....his vibe...nothing else like it.
This this…. This is what we as a people need more of the KING David Rudder , his music is a perfect example of what it means to be a true Trinbagonian. #Born868 #LiveYourPassion 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
This man in a class by himself, oui! Profound thanks for the sweet outpouring of your love for T&T, David. Your body of work with its discernment of where Trinbago people really at is PhD praiseworthy. One day, one day congotay. Meanwhile, please keep holding de space for we. Nuff nuff respect, always!
This was amazing! Im a 1st generation millennial and grew up listening to rudder thru my parents.I wish he had a site selling merch. I would like that Charlie roots poster and all the other art featured.
My nation, Trinidad & Tobago is the most musical country n the world. We are producing so many types of music all year-around...when one adds the invention of the Steelpan...and the fact that our Calypso, Soca, Rap, Chutney and even Parang 'move' the world...this is our country's true wealth : our Music !!! And our Culture...especially our Carnival industry. When we find the ways to process what we do naturally, for $$, then we will be on our way...
I'm young but my parents always played these kind of music made me fall in live made me motivated to play our musical instrument thanks Mr Rudder much love
I have always considered you to be a true poet. Your songs are more than elongated speech set to music, they elicit emotions and memories that resonate. I especially liked the man with the hammer.
We are a strange country. Not many foreigners understand what is going on. We have words that cannot be translated into Standsrd English although we use English to create these words and phrases. When you eventually understand the spirit and vibration coming from this nation you would realise that we are no ordinary nation. We changed struggle, servitude, genocide, captive rule, oppression, and all negative done to us into something new and positive. We died along the way but we were reborn in this century creating a new version of ourselves through our multicultural blend. We are music, we are rhythm, we speak in musical keys and we create something out of nothing. We are Trinbagonians that some might never understand.
What u mean seh the concrete jungle drum cyan play calypso....if the concrete jungle is subtly dissing reggae, we can play any and every music...reggae reach far more people than calypso or soca!! I Like u missa rudder but reggae a root!! Foundation!
