The Elliott Smith special. Learning guitar through his music, I just keep my guitars in D now. You can always capo up. Throw some .11s on at least for electric, otherwise the tension isn't quite there, and it's tricky to keep low strings drifting off pitch.
gotta say, i've used this site to fine tune my MANY guitars ever since i found it a few months ago. so helpful. i tagged it in my bookmarks and i go to it before every performance. thanks.
I know but it's like multiple songs too??? They always play different beats so I'm wondering what band could have this many songs using this riff???? 🤔
I used to play before I lost 2 fingers. You were the first one who's giving an accurate guitar tuning. Crap that comes with the new play ones is garbage. Please contact me.
this tuning should be standard or at least much more widely used. so many singers possibly dont realise their full potential because they are trying to sing outside of their range constantly. iv always thought that E wasnt low enough.
You don't have to when tuning down, the danger is in using heavier gauge strings in higher tunings. But I would still recommended using medium gauge strings on a tuned down guitar as they will provide better tension at that tuning. If you do switch string gauge, make sure to check your intonation afterwards, it may throw it off slightly.
if u want a serious rec, i'd say Ernie Ball Slinky Top Heavy Bottoms work pretty good, Power Slinky too. Thicker gauges sound better downtuned generally
Try playing in drop C. So you go to D standard then drop the C down like you would in a drop D standard tuning. Heavy as fuck. BTBAM, Opeth, bands like this use it all the time., I don't play much metal anymore but when I did, that was my favorite.
If you don't know how this will affect your calibration, much less how to re-calibrate if needed, just don't change the tuning. Take it to someone who does know.
Played that so many times, so loud, but my guitar is only hanging on the wall and it is still detuned! Don't understand what is happening wrong ;( Played that at guitar shop- No guitar tuned after this video!
