I play a one set tennis match vs. a former D1 College player. Highlights at 0:43, 2:18, 2:40, 5:44, 14:14, 14:37 TennisProdigy
MY GOAL IS TO EARN 1 SINGLE ATP POINT!!! Will I achieve this unlikely feat? Maybe yes, maybe no. But one things for sure, if I never even step up to the starting line, my chance of success is certain to be 0%.
Backstory: I am a completely self-taught tennis player who learned the fundamentals of tennis through trial and error while studying videos, articles, and emulating the pros!
I started playing tennis junior year of high school. I played as much as I could an eventually tried out for the team that spring only to get cut... But I didn't let that discourage me, I trained my ass off until spring of my senior year where I tried out yet again and not only made the team, but I played #1 singles the entire season.
I've been playing tennis on and off for the last decade, with my best accomplishments being my USTA results in 2012-2015, I was bumped up from 4.5 to 5.0 in 2015 then took a long hiatus away from the game...
2012 - First season at 4.0 in Howard County, MD - I went undefeated the entire season, bumped to 4.5
2013 - First season at 4.5 in Columbus, OH - Went 50/50 in singles
2015 - Second season at 4.5 in HC, MD - Won every match in straight sets except one close match that I lost in 3 sets when I was sick (captain couldn't find a sub), bumped to 5.0

I’ve played many a pusher. I cant tell who the pusher is. Pushers play flat for the most part. They lob and slice off the forehand(squash shot). Pushers also don’t put a lot of pace on the ball. I wouldn’t consider either of these guys the ultimate pusher.

Which one was the D1 player and which one was the pusher? Good tennis though! The low camera angle with the wide lens doesn’t do any favors. Most shots look like balloon/lob-ish even though they most likely aren’t

A pusher can have amazing technique. Pusher gets a bad rap. A pusher is someone that massages the ball around the court. At the highest levels on purpose, Corentin Moutet, Radek Stepanek, Miloslav Mecir, Michael Chang and even Nick Kyrgios off the BH side pushing the ball all come to mind. Glorious technique all of them.

This is a funny video. The pusher is Me and Kev is the D1 player. It's pretty clear from looking at their technique. Me is just pushing and doesn't have any real technique on his serve or ground stokes. Kev is very polished. He serve is excellent and his ground game is solid. The reason why most naive observers would not recognize who is who is that Kev is not using much pace because he is playing a pusher. He wants to play patient and only go for winners when there's a clear opportunity. After all, a pusher only succeeds if you let him. If I played Me, I would have attacked him mercilessly but then I would have made more mistakes. Hopefully I would have come out on top.

the person in the white shirt is the pusher. I can kinda tell by the way that they are picking their shots. the guy in the white shirt is trying to play defensively while the other guy is playing for consistency, and waiting for a chance to move in. it's a very technical game in terms of strategy.
