I've worked on a D10 blade at my shop. Have yet to work on a D11. May be rare and never work on one. Those push arms are massive. I've done D9 push arms and I'm working on a D8 push arm.
Dont they usually leave the factory, with just blade and ripper to fit on site, ive not seen one stripped down so far, must just for transport issues to China .
Ive only seen 1 D11 at the mineing show, in Las Vegas, 2004, they are huge, boss of Caterpillar was at show too, love to go again, Do you work at the facility, or on mine sites, ?? Must be great job.
Geez I hope that was a refurbed D11. The way they scratched the crap out of the paint work on so many of the parts was disgraceful, and then they just hammered in the pins !! You have to freeze them, then quickly press them in so they seal tight !! Caterpillar would be horrified !! But I guess if you pay them, you can do what you like to it...
Sad. Great subject poorly recorded. Way too close up and fast -- couldn't see what the guys were doing. Plus the crappy too-loud music I had to instantly mute. Better luck next time. Thumb down.
