We work on the infamous D15b7 head which is the same one on the
D16a6 both run a Pm3 head casting but the D16a6 has a tiny bit bigger stock cam than its counter part.
You can see the substantial core shift which exists from core to core and platform to platform and we tackle each one differently from the previous because not one casting has an identical core shift.
As you will see on the port shape, it will slowly lend reason to why Bisi Ezerioha owner of Bisimoto chose and prefer the pm3 head and he did wonders with it! with crazy good power.

@@SRDmotorsports gona binge watch ur personal a6 build now. Trying to get as much info as I can so I can help my friend build the most efficient D series he can. He has a stock b7 and before we were planning to slap on a z6 head that ive been having but after some research....hmmmm

The z6 has more cam choices that’s it So if a regrind will suffice then I’d go with pm3 I mean granted ur not shooting for 500+ whp turbo then no need for a specific cam and a regrind will be more than enough

Hello, its been a while. I thought id ask here because its your latest video. regarding turbocharging a k series. My rpm limit will be no higher than maybe 8200rpm. (7500rpm or less with a long final drive would be nice) I want to have torque and response like an evo, with a max power of 500hp, realistically. It seems that people make 400 to 600hp easy on factory internals, but they do so with low torque and a big turbo, with torque kept to a maximum of around 400Nm. With what I have in mind, a small turbo (for a k20) like a td06 25g with a nice flat power curve and torque coming in at low rpm, will i have to upgrade the rods and pistons? I dont want to say what engine i have, but it came factory with a ppa head, dual plenum intake and (surprisingly) rbc 50 degree intake cam. I want to keep it that way. I also will keep the balance shaft setup if it has one. Im not sure if it has the k20a3 style crankshaft but if so, i may upgrade to k24 crank and go 2.3L yes there are better blocks but this ones sentimental to me; my mum bought me this car off my sister. Money no object, but I just want to keep this block and head setup with this car.

One thing is I’m uncertain about the k24 crank on to ur block… on stock pistons and rods = 350-350whp is doable with reliability Ofcourse add more boost and u can get 500hp but durability? I can’t tell and that’s where pistons and rods come to mind… On the intake side… the common step they would suggest rbc that’s fine But I would prefer a skunk2 pro series intake it has more plenum volume and if ported a lot more potential…

nice video man, im running into a somewhat similar issue. Ive heard of the mini me swaps & all that, but my d15b block has a PM3-7 head on it. as far as i know thats a d16a6 auto. Ive heard of head swapping but why a non vtec head with a vtec block & ecu (p06 & p07)?

not sure but pm3 is also for a d15b7 and not all d15b were vtec right away I mean kinda hard to tell once everything’s been switched up

I’d stick with the pm3 head it actually runs real good and produced good torque

@@SRDmotorsports one of the first people who actually tell me something like that & not "just run a vtec head". You think as first time engine builder itd be good to build block & head for boost? Im going to school for Auto service in January so this feedback is really appreciated

The water jackets still good on this head? Corrosion is somehow worrying. BTW, will this be an OEM superstar too?

Yep should be fine we didn’t clean it prior to the vid mines as bad plus it’s from a ph12 looool we know the maintenance those gets lol not sure yet where it could go but def open for future stuff to develop and research

That’s a possibility… on the b7 as the ph12 has more core shift that an esi pm3 not bad but visible and evident

Depende sa gagawin and project kase khit naman if ever p08 ang maganda ? If built wrong or tipid ng mali? Eh mas pangit pa sha sa worst head at madami nyan saten ganyan ginagawa
