Hello sir! I am maxillofacial surgery resident.I recently encountered an ankylosed upper third molar.after attempting the extraction 2/3rd of root remained inside which was ankylosed.I didn't attempt to remove it surgically. What advice would you give while handling such cases ?

I just spoke about this today. Sometimes you can't prevent it especially if the patient is older than 35, bruxer, tooth is in function, and elevating too aggressively. Let me know how it works for you.
