This was my comment - thank you so much for this video. I can’t say for certain whether my oral surgeon didn’t care or not, however you’re right that it was definitely how I perceived it. He first gave me an antibiotic at 4 weeks post-op and when I returned again he said I guess we can try a steroid, but said it was absolutely not nerve damage several times and that I would be numb if it were. I asked him several times prior to surgery if I was at risk for nerve damage and he assured me I was not. I never had any kind of scan done other than a panoramic from several months before surgery. He took X-rays at my follow up appointments and I had them emailed to me - it looks to me like there’s a bundle of nerves (or something?) near the empty socket. I’m not sure, though. I have had some tingling in my chin and around my mouth in the past week. I still have a good bit of swelling in my lower cheek/jaw which I feel like should be gone by now. The burning feeling is still there, but I’m not sure if it’s slightly better or if I’m just getting used to it. I look forward to your next video about the phone call - thank you for your time.

Hey Dr. You seem like a very good patience DR! Thanks for making this channel. Would like to ask you, do you think paresthesia (slight numbness) in face like cheeks n jaw area can be caused by old tooth infection that hasnt been removed? (And also mild dry mouth symptoms)

I wouldnt describe it as very numb just like a mild feeling of uneasiness like in the inner cheaks and a little the tongue. (I had a RCT but i feel it failed and was was told it still seems infection persist so im on the fence about getting it extracted) look forward to your response Dr 🙏 Thanks

You are so kind😇😇😇. Dry mouth with infection d teeth no. Infection can potentially cause slight numbness.

@@jaredwdds6884 Appreciate it so much for responding!🙏 Any advice on how to find a Dr that specializes in this what can i Google "keywords" ? I just want a final consultation before getting extracted since i had just got a RCT but i suspect it failed. (Side question can this also lead to moderate random paresthesia in other body parts)
