Just imagine what Leonardo would think if he saw my drone flying through one of those towers while he was standing there dreaming about flying devices. This is the Castle of Visconto (Pavia) and Leonardo arrives here in 1490 for the first time.
THE HYPOTHESIS: MONNA LISA IN THE CASTLE OF VISCONTO
The German scholar Maike Vogt-Luerssen has documented a series of revelations capable of questioning the exact identification of the mysterious woman portrayed in the Mona Lisa . According to the German historian, the woman painted in the revered painting would be Isabella of Aragon, Duchess of Milan, daughter of Alfonso II and Ippolita Maria Sforza.
Isabella of Aragon lived in Pavia from 1488 to 1497; the family symbols, clearly visible on the dress, would prove it. Leonardo may have painted the official portrait of the duchess in the Castello Visconteo , between columns only sketched in the unfinished painting in the Louvre but clearly visible, for example, in the Vernon Gioconda (it is in the United States) and in the Isleworth Mona Lisa (it is in Switzerland).
Hope you enjoyed it.
