I have 2 DAA rigs and one Safariland comp holster. The DAA are very reliable. They not quite as smooth / fast as the Safailand however the pistol falls from the Safariland way too easily when the lock is not used. There is no force on the trigger guard cam to stop the pistol just falling out. I am trying to mod the Safariland so you get about 1/4” of retention before it’s free. The DAA is about 1/2” before it lifts free. For me with an aggressive draw (filmed it) I can see I tend to torque the holster ( my crap draw technique) - the thigh pad help reduce this a lot.
this holster looks really cool. im just starting out in IAPS airsoft and needed a holster like this. then i saw the price. derp. maybe something for the future. definitely a cool design.
David, do you shoot suppressed pistols? These speed holsters are the perfect holster for a suppressed pistol. Would work for steel challenge, open, and 3gun. Thoughts?
Great vid, thanks 🙏 Would you know if this holster would work with the Beretta 92X Performance with the Toni System gear on it? Mainly the red dot frame that surrounds the firearm? Cheers.
I’m 99% sure they have a 92X Performance block. If they have one, it’ll work with almost everything you have attached, since the point of race holsters is to have standard/limited and open shooters use it with all the crap we have on our pistols
Not to be a smartass, but revolver division can use a race holster too. I just bought a TS2 yesterday and I'm going to try limited division when it gets warm. I wanted to get the cheaper, Racer X holster but they don't have an option for the TS2. I emailed DAA, and they said I have to get the more expensive Alpha X. It really looks like the S2 Racer X would fit the TS2 but I don't want to risk it. Should I take a chance and order the Racer X for the S2 and send it back if it doesn't work with the TS2, or just get the Alpha X with TS2 insert?
I'm pretty sure they make an insert for s&w performance center revolvers. I know they make the muzzle support attachment for revolvers, so I'm assuming they make an insert too.
I have to get a new insert block for my Czechmate. It doesn't fit the one that fits my TS2 and Shadow 2. Is it hard to change the insert block? I can't find instructions anywhere.
There is a little lever the front of the guard pushes down on that makes it possible for a little finger come into the guard behind the front of the trigger guard when the switch is flipped
If you need the universal nature - the GR. It also comes off quick which is cool for moving around on planes. The Ghost is set up out of the box for one. You can save 10% with “gearup10” at ghostholsterdirect.com
its the gold standard, but i feel like recent niche players have started to offer similar functionality for the same quality (new safariland one?). For open you basically require this, but for limited or a non gamer i must say i really like the stress free simplicity of a good ole kydex gun bucket a-la red hill or blade tech etc. minor things like - does the muzzle run on your shorts and stain your clothes? stuff that just doesnt happen with a non race holster... again, if you shoot open you NEED this so those arguments are null
@@xdivineHARTlol that's what we all started with back in 92 when Jerry Barnhart stuck a 30mm Tasco on his open gun and won the USPSA Nationals. Later, Ira Kay invented the C-more and we couldn't yank those beer cans off our guns fast enough.
